Adjustable bed - Classic
We have an 18 Classic and are loving it. This unit has the adjustable bed. We find it very comfortable and have no issues with the bed itself except that the mattress doesn’t stay put.
I noted it had ties and thought perhaps they were to secure it in place. That helped for a few days until they both broke one morning when I raised the head. So if that was the purpose, they don’t work anymore.
Have any of my fellow owners found a solution to this problem?

I don’t have the adjustable bed since I have the twin beds but I do have an adjustable bed at home which requires a small bracket at the foot of the mattress to keep it for sliding off. Maybe you could attach (with screws) a simple brace to the frame that will prevent the bed from sliding down but still allows access to the storage area under the bed.

That thought had crossed our minds. I searched but haven’t found one yet...

Here is a picture, from Tempur-Pedic, of the bracket that holds the mattress in place on our adjustable beds. It just screws onto the moving bed base.

Our 2018 Classic does have bracket at the bottom of the bed to hold the mattress--yours should have one also.

Would you be able to send a photo? Does it have any information on it? How is it attached?
Airstream Customer Service just emailed me that they don’t have one!

Thanks, we have the same exact issue with our Classic 33... dealer is unaware of a bracket to keep mattress from sliding down. More info on the A/S supplied equipment would be great-

I saw the adjustment mechanism on one at a show and thought I could add that or something like it, but forgot what it looks like. Could someone take a picture of the mechanism?
Thanks,
Al

I just received (from Airstream) the schematic for the bed and it shows a retainer at the foot of the bed. I have requested one be sent out. They have asked for a photo of my base missing part so they can address QC. I suggest emailing them direct. They have been very helpful.

I’m curious if anyone knows if the 2018 queen bed is different than the adjustable queen on the 2017 Classic 30. We have the same experience with the broken ties and I would like to add the retainer bar if possible.

Pete, call Airstream in Jackson Center, customer service. I don’t have the number handy, wait yes I do, Our factory service center is located at 419 West Pike Street in Jackson Center, Ohio and open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST.
Call us at (877) 596-6111.
They are very good at helping to find a part, or any other issues you might have. Some people have had good experiences with dealers but I prefer to call JC, they can and have overnighted parts to me wherever I be. Of course I don’t always need something that quick but it is nice to know they can.

Laurie:
Our twins are adjustable? Both have the individual ability to raise or lower the head of the bed by using the Firefly button on the panel above the head of the bed. Both mattresses stay in place as the foot of each is resting on the walls at the foot.

Suffering through my learning curve on posting to the forum—not sure if my last msg posted, but am certain the photos did not, so this is a retry. Here are photos of the bracket. We purchased the Airstream at Airstream Las Vegas and I’m certain this came standard with the unit.

Bud, I know. I keep forgetting the twins are adjustable on our model since I don’t use that function but the point of my post was the OP has the queen bed and probably needs that bracket at the foot of the bed to keep the mattress from sliding off the platform.
Thanks again to all my fellow 2017 Classic 30 A model owners who are always there for me and to make sure I am fully functional. Don’t know what I would do with out ya’ll. Everything is working absolutely perfectly.

I received an email from customer service at the Mother Ship and they are sending me a mattress retainer for us to install. It is supposed to be included on the queen bed.
