2018 Serenity 27’ no 110 power
Checked the obvious: outlet has power, tried it on generator, etc. I have single AC and there are two power ports on outside; left side and front by propane tanks and I’ve tried both. Checked breakers and fuses too. Any ideas?
I’ve heard of transfer switch problems and searched here but couldn’t actually find any transfer switch on mine. There’s a 12V power panel and an inverter under the front bed but nothing else.
Noticed the problem when I tried to run the AC (at home thankfully before a trip). Advice appreciated!

Yep, 12v stuff, and inverter, works.

Putting surge protector in bypass mode restored power.

That’s odd. Could be something wrong with your surge protector. That’s the weak link then. I assume it is built in.

Or something wrong with input power. Check surge protector error codes.

Dealer installed it. I think the problem may be my garage outlet (test light shows open ground). Running on generator to cool down the AS (was 104 degrees inside the unit and 96 outside today).

So then your surge protector was working! If you have an EMS system like I do that’s what it’s suppose to do. It’s just odd if you have used the same outlet before and the EMS didn’t shut it down.

I had a whole house generator installed and something may have happened to that line when the work was done. I’ll get it checked out.

Was it a potable generator that you used. If so it needs to have a grounding plug, bonding the neutral to the grounded conductor. If not, your trailer will see a open ground.

Hi
All generators come with ( or should come with) the neutral floating relative to the chassis ground. That works fine in some cases and is relatively easy to correct in the cases where it does not. In a home, the neutral and ground should be bonded at the main panel ( = generator should work ok). In an RV the expectation is that the bond is at the shore power pole ( = generator needs some help ). With anything like this one can never say 100% how anything has been done. In most cases, the generator will need an adapter that bonds ground and neutral to properly feed the trailer. If that's not present all sorts of odd (and possibly very dangerous) things can happen.

Not quite sure what this is doing in the "Classic" sub-forum ...
