2018 Classic 30 AC Vents Fit and Front Sofa Question

We picked up a lightly used 2018 Classic 30 from a private party Thursday and are spending now our 3rd night in it camping to get a feel for it and begin learning it’s systems.

So far we love it and feel the Classic is a good choice for us. Going through a learning curve and between the forums, conversations with the seller and a call to Jackson Center to get a pdf on the Alde system we are slowly getting used to how things work.

Too early to say we have it all down pat and still some things we need some quality time with to figure them out. But before we get so used to the living with the condition of a couple of small things and thus never get back to them, I’d like to ask

1)
What should be a reasonable expectation for how tightly the AC vents hug the ceiling? They are riveted hanging in place and appear to be without adjustment. Some hang down about a 1/4 inch or so on one side and look a bit shoddy not really covering the air duct holes in the ceiling. A little air leaks out around them.

2)
The front sofa is very comfortable. The center section pulls down to show a corian tabletop that would be a useful place to set a beverage. Except the thickness of the cushion does does not allow the table surface to sit level instead it leans backward and anything set on it would slide backward. Is there an adjustment that can be made to remedy this?

These are small things compared to many other concerns posted by members, and I cannot find much information on them. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

Dave the AC vents should rotate Eyp and have a small grey plastic tab for opening and closing the actual vent. Post a photo of yours since it doesn’t sound like you have the standard vents.

We don't have a classic but if it's the same as our flying cloud you just push the vent cover into the ceiling until it snaps in place to get it as flush as you can. Congrats!

Hi there - I have the same problem on my Classic - the sofa center section isn't level. There are two, hard to reach, 'stop' bolts for the center section which can be adjusted. I adjusted the bolts on mine as much as possible and its better but still not completely level. The problem is the thickness of the cushion based on where the hinge is located. They should have made the hinge higher up so that the stop bolts could have more room for adjustment.

I’ve seen the stop bolts and agree the the thickness of the cushion and location of the the hinge is the problem.

Hi

The rock slab in the center section also has a tendency to come out and bounce around the trailer ....

Is there really any value to the center section of the sofa as seating?

After playing for a year, our answer was - nope / no value. We never used it as seating. It's to small for anything other than a kid. Sitting there is not very comfortable at all. Indeed our answer may not be your answer

Once that was decided, the center section comes out by loosening a couple of nuts (two in front and *maybe* one in back ( = ours did not have a nut in back). It lifts out and can be stored away.

You now have a nice open space between the two recliners to build up whatever sort of storage gizmo your heart desires. Ours got made from plywood and a ton of 3D printed parts. It works of us, but likely for nobody else on the planet. There are lots of ways you could do it up.
