I see the wall ribs are all wood! Does it look OK, no rot? Looks to be some possible "change of life" for some of the adhesive (or sealer?) between the wood and the aluminum. Or is it just my crappy eyesite...

Never knew those old ones used wood in them like that, very interesting. Thanks for putting it into whatever slideshow software that is, real easy to negotiate.
The website and slideshow are all MAC- love my MAC!

The trailer does have all wood ribs- that from the outside of the trailer are screwed in. Yes- every 6th rivet is a screw holding whats left of the ribs in from the outside. There would have then been some sort of veneer wood then some trim pieces where all the ribs are on the interior of the trailer. The ribs are all there but some are in pieces and most will probably have to be replaced. You probably can't tell from the photos but the ribs are 3 pieces of wood put together and they taper in thickness as they get to the end of the trailer. The woodwork is pretty remarkable. It will be at Vintage Trailer Jam this July- you should come down and check it out! I will have to post some more photos later- I got some more polishing down this weekend.

I will, and I look forward to seeing it in person at the Vintage Trailer Jam next month.

Just thought I would post a picture of the '39 at Vintage Trailer Jam. Sorry it took so long to update. We have done a little polishing - but that's about it.

There's a story in today's Kansas City Star about the '36 Airstream Clipper owned by Vince Martinico of Auburn, CA.

99% of people on the road would be dreaming of owning that trailer.
