Winterize - Question

Today I had my 2017 28 International Serenity winterized. I did it last year, but had a mobile service person here repairing my hot water heater so I let him winterize it. He had a 12 volt pump and attached the out put to the city water line, and pumped anti-freeze through the lines. He drained the HW heater and set the bypass as he should. He let it run until all faucets ran anti freeze and ran the trailer water pump. He also ran the toilet until anti freeze ran. He put about a cup of antifreeze in each drain. He also opened the low point drains until he saw anti freeze. Is this a good winterization?

Did he run antifreeze through the black water tank flush system, if you have one?

And drained the fresh water tank?

In our opinion, the use of antifreeze is not necessary, as a full winterization can be accomplished using compressed air alone, but that is a separate discussion. [plus AF in the waste traps]

There are lots of comments about winterizing FYI:

It doesn’t sound like enough antifreeze was used to get thru the entire system.

I use a couple of gallons.

He actually ran two gallons. I added a little more to the traps. He did open the low point drains, drained the water tank, and ran some through the toilet.

Did he unscrew the input line to the pump to drain it and drain the strainer?

You said he put the antifreeze in at the city water connection. If that is the case, none went in the pump.

I'll do that tomorrow. I keep the trailer heated (40 degrees) during the winter so I think I'm ok. Thanks for the comments.

May I recommend that you read your owner's manual, as well as the resources linked in Post #2, as a double-check that all the winterization steps have been done?

One page of reassurances from strangers makes for pretty flimsy confirmation IMO.
