Need Leak Advice

Woke up this morning to a medium size pool of water in my bedroom under the tv (2017 30' Serenity). We had a strong storm last night but we've been seeing storms like that for the past two weeks and this has been the first observed leak. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what to check or where to look?

I had a similar problem with my 2016 classic. I determined that the leak was coming from the shower water connection. Pull your TV away from the bedroom wall. Turn the shower on. Use a flashlight and look behind the TV at the shower water connections. You can see the connections in the open wall behind the TV. My water connections were not properly tightened and water was steadily dripping down and pudding on the floor directly below the TV wall. After tightening the water connections the leak stopped.

Thanks for the idea! Unfortunately, in the serenity the shower is on the opposite side of the trailer from where I found the leak. The leak was on the other side of the wall from the toilet, but there was no water or moisture in the bathroom. I'm thinking I have some water coming in through an exterior seal. That being said - I am going to go through and verify the plumbing connections are tight.

We had a some leaks in our new 2017 FC 27FB the second night we had it after a bad rain storm. One was dripping in the bathroom (close to the same location as yours) and the second was over the dinette.. I took the trailer to JC and the great service technicians there found the one in the bathroom was coming from the plumbing vent and the Ventline exhaust vent. Where the Walter comes into the trailer isn't always directly down from the leaks on the outside of the trailer. Ours leaked inside about 6" away from the vents. The other place the tech at JC said they look at when a leak is in this area is the skylight. Our leak over the dinette was from to locations, one was a running light and the second and hardest to fix was where the back awning is attached to the trailer. They had to take a strip of inside trim off and them they filled the channel where the awning is attached with a tube of calling. So far no more leaks! The guys at the JC service center really know do an outstanding job!

Our 19' Bambi is obviously different from the OP's Airstream. However, if the leak is located near a vent or fan, it's possible that the water may be coming in there and running across the curved roof between the inner and outer panels.

See link for the discovery and repair of the mysterious leak that had plagued our Bambi for years:

X2 on roof vents not leaking where you would think. I have experienced it twice. My front roof vent leaked and showed up behind the couch under each battery box. I sealed and fooled around with the boxes and window for months before discovering the problem was the vent lid. The second showed up under one bed in the back. I thought it was from the storage access door. It took me a while to discover it was the Fantastic Fan.

Thanks for the insight all - I'm going to keep investigating and see what I can find. I have a tech coming out this next week to do some warranty work on the forward skylight - maybe this is somehow connected.

So I believe I have it isolated to the rear air conditioner. Switched it off and the leak has stopped - now to figure out how and where to seal it!

Your drain hose may not be connected. Does the condensate drain on the ground out of the hose at all.

Excellent question! I'll check first thing tomorrow - it's been raining all evening so working on leaks has been challenging! 😕

It sounds like you may have found the issue. I looked at your floorplan and would look at the toilet attachment lines for leaks and the sink lines underneath- if water was hooked up and pressurized. Then look outside for water connections on that side. There have been reports of leaks at the water connection/pressure regulator before. Then up top I would go. The AC drain line is a strong possibility and most likely especially if the water was not hooked up or pressurized.

UPDATE! Should anyone be interested, the source of the leak was found at the dealership and was a failed check valve at the point where the city water enters the trailer. The water was dropping slowly and steadily filled the plastic pan inside and eventually draped into the back bedroom. Additionally, a clogged AC line was causing a leak that I had not observed. RV One in Orlando did a great job and really came through for me. Now back to enjoying my dry AS!

Dripping and seeped, not dropping and draped - weird autocorrect and shame on me for not proof reading! 😬
