International Serenity 25'

Just purchased our first AS. 25' with one air conditioner 15k BTU. After purchase I've seen a 25' same model with the 15k and an additional 13k. I am worried my 15k BTU will not be enough to keep the camper cool. I am in DE.

For what it is worth we've travelled 8 years with our 25' and a single 13.5k AC unit. Worked out fine for us...

Alrighty then! That goes a long way in making me feel better! We take delivery in two weeks. I am excited, and since this is our first camper, I just wasn't sure what to expect..... newbie sweat....lol. May be that 2 ac's could just be over kill. Thanks so very much!

We just purchased a 30' International Serenity that has two, and our salesman's opinion was it was better to only have one because most shore power is 30 amp and running two requires 50 amp. So most of the time that extra unit will be sitting there unused anyway.

We bought our 30' signature used, with two air conditioners. As we prefer to have a vent fan over our bed, we had the bedroom AC removed. We don't travel to hot climes much, anyway.

OMG, THIS very issue has me crazy!!! We JUST (yesterday) took possession of our new 2018 25" Serenity FB Twin. No way did I want to lose the fan in the bedroom, the fallout from having that 2nd AC unit. Understand that we live in Florida and the dealer ALWAYS orders their stock with 2 AC units but mine was a custom order. The best advice I got from this forum was "if you plan to camp in the Everglades in August, get the 2nd AC unit". LOL In reality, our camping plans in the summer are for either NC mountains or out west. Florida camping will wait until November - April when its not Africa hot. DO get the awning package. Brought it home yesterday and felt the metal around the windows, HOT. AC had trouble keeping it cool but its 95 and humid and blazing sun!!!! There are tricks we intend to utilize to keep the unit much cooler, ask me if you end up getting the one AC. Heading to the mountains of NC next week on our maiden voyage, hope to open all the windows!!!!!!

My wife and I are very close to (finally) pulling the trigger on an Airstream, and this very conversation is bouncing back and forth. Would love to hear the "tricks" you plan on using to help the A/C. Obviously, things like shady campsites, keeping the curtains closed and avoiding oven/stove cooking help, but wondering what else you have up your sleeves...

I have found that Reflectix in the windows of the lounge area of our 25FB, during the sunny part of the day, makes a HUGE difference. This is especially true when driving to our evening destination. Our trailer used to be too hot when we arrived to cool down by bedtime, but not if I leave the Reflectix in the windows while driving. My only experience is with 90-95 degrees and high humidity.

WOW....you had the 2nd AC unit removed so you'd have the fan in the bedroom to use? And here I thought I was the only nut job with that exact same desire/requirement!!!!

Thanks so much for the brand name of the material I need to buy, TODAY! There is NO DOUBT that cutting that stuff and inserting it between each window shade and the window AND blocking each ceiling fan will absolutely do the trick to keep the unit cool. Now if I can only figure out how the keep the metal around the window frames from doing its best imitation of a hot frying pan.....(we talking a hot/humid/sunny day in August in Florida. No plans to camp too often in a similar environment, it is simply sitting on my property in that for now but putting out the awning helped tremendously)
