Pendleton #62

Holy Cow! Our Pendleton has arrived!!!!! We're on our way soon just to see her, and see if our dealership in Buda TX can have the prep completed by Friday. Much to our surprise, she was trailered here, not towed. Exciting day!!!

When trying to attach a photo it rotated it 90 degrees. Not sure how to fix that, but will post some pics when I can.

Congratulations and enjoy the "new" experience. Make sure you are not rushed by the delivering dealer on your PDI walkthrough. Get a good checklist and also a separate checklist of the accessories that come with the Pendleton. Lots of boxes of "stuff" for these that aren't normal delivery items for other Airstreams.

My walk-through at camper clinic for our 2016 Eddie Bauer 27 was thorough and not rushed. They were patient with all my questions and were quite detailed. I was there a few weeks ago and saw a Pendleton behind the building. Wonder who got that one.

Congrats MarkFinATX!

Yes, please send pictures when you can! Also, is the dealer installing any accessories? If so, please list.
Thanks,

Congrat's!! We picked ours up Friday and camped all weekend just got her home. They rushed the walkthru, wasn't impressed with the dealer we purchased through or the service. But, I guess they thought they could act that way, knowing we were going to get it no matter what!!

Let me guess - it was the only dealer in Virginia, Right?
Frankly, they have such a turnover rate that their probably isn't ONE qualified person in the dealership who actually knows that much about ANY of the inventory.

Go to youtube. There are a lot of videos from Colonial Airstream (and others) that show you how to use various components. I've seen SO many people who have tortured their awnings into pretzels that it is not funny. the most common mistake is to hook the pole that should go from the top of the Airstream to the roller on the awning - and instead hook it to the pull out height adjustment stopper on the bottom pole. The awning droops at a 45 degree angle, the door rubs on it and both poles are stressed so much that they bend.

I always offer to show them a better way (Never say the "right way" it hurts feelings!) to get more height and depth on the awning

Yes!!! The RV place off 95!! Our sales guy is pretty good, he responds right away to text and such, but the service YUCK!!! The finance dept. the lady that works there is AWESOME thought. I would of bought from Colonial in a millisecond but they already sold their 3 Pendletons. I love their You Tubes and you can tell they love Airstreams.

Sad to see #74 at the mothership in a sad state among other trailers lined up for repair. Did anyone here have 74? Can't tell if it was damaged at the factory, on the way to a dealer, at the dealer or post-sale but the cling wrap is still on the stone guards. Don't know how that cap damage could have happened.

gosh

Poor #74, I'll take her if no one else wants her! I'm sure that's a big repair, and it has to be done right. No Airstreamer ever wants to see these kind of damages. MPJ

Ouch!!! Ours, #62, was delivered to Buda TX on a low flatbed trailer. Somebody must have hit a bridge. What a bummer.

Pendleton damage?

It's always a guess,

but notice that the propane bottles are aluminum, not steel. I know that when they're delivered to dealers the propane cover is inside the unit, and it is installed at the dealership, so it doesn't get dinged before the owner gets it.

I wonder if they're actually shipped with propane bottles on them? The tongue weight would be lower, the bottles and propane would cost about the same wherever they're delivered to, and pragmatically, lack of heat would keep the driver from sleeping IN the trailer and getting grease, dirt or tobacco smell inside.

As far as I know even the Classics get steel bottles - anything in the description that says the Pendleton gets Aluminum? If not, it's an owner upgrade. (I myself should think about going to aluminum bottles simply because even if they are only 7 lbs lighter than the steel ones, my aching shoulder joints would appreciate the help.)

To me the damage on the roof suggests that a fiberglass light pole fell on it - and not one that the driver of the tow vehicle HIT either. I'd guess a windstorm damaged it, or another vehicle hit it and it fell into this Airstream. The caved in area is too smooth and straight be caused by a tree, and it doesn't have a lot of scratching on the clear coat that might indicate someone went under a low branch or roof line. We've had some KILLER high this spring. Fiberglass light poles will eventually fail from wind swaying them - especially when the top part starts moving in a circular pattern.

Paula

The aluminum bottles come standard on the Pendleton, per the window sticker of the unit I saw at Sanders RV. Joe

The aluminum 40 pound propane tanks on our Classic supposedly weigh the same as the 30 pound steel tanks on our 23D when both sized tanks are full.

Either one is now a load for me to carry very far. Nuts to getting older!

Some good news - the Pendleton I mentioned (#74) is in the service bay. They're replacing the damaged end cap and I think another panel.

When I asked what happened I was told it happened in transit so it left the factory but never made it to the dealer.

I asked if I could take a look.

W O W!!!!!!

This is a breathtakingly beautiful trailer!!! Basically a 27FB Eddie Bauer with a dynamite gorgeous interior. The pictures suck compared to what this looks and feels like inside. You know the floors are vinyl and the cabinets are laminated - but it feels like you're in a log cabin (and the materials will handle life in the road and in campgrounds). And the ducted AC eliminates that big unit in the center of the trailer and feels really roomy. Thankfully, I was able to restrain my drool reflex 😀

Really really gorgeous!! You 100 who are getting these are SO FORTUNATE!!!!! Very happy for you!

Picking up #47!

We were blown away by the quality of the finish, look, and feel of the Pendleton. You MUST get in it to really appreciate it. Picking up #47 after solar panels are installed. Then, Yellowstone and points West this summer. Hope to stay in touch with other Pendletons while we're on the road!
