Online registration for the VAC Wagon wheel caravan and the International Rally Rendezvous is now open. If you are attending the International Rally and plan on camping with the VAC then you should think about signing up for both of these events.
A little about each:
The WagonWheel Carvan is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the departure of the Around the World Caravan. There will be plenty of activity and things to explore at each stop. The caravan starts at Hot Springs, South Dakota with folks arriving in Hot Springs on June 19th and will run through Hill City, South Dakota, Interior, South Dakota just outside of Badlands National Park. The final night will be at Pierre, South Dakota before heading to the Rendez vous at the Laura Ingalas Homestead in De Smet, South Dakota. This caravan is limited to 25 trailers and registration will be open until the 1st of May, 2013.
For the VAC Rendez Vous, we will circle the Airstreams in DeSmet, South Dakota, on the grounds of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Homestead. This is the same Laura Ingalls who wrote the Little House on the Prairie and the Little House book series. The Homestead has fun for the whole family with tours of the grounds, where Laura was inspired to write her books, covered wagon rides, an 1880's school session, Ma's Little House, ponies and horses, a Prairie Exhibit and other pioneering activities, and a well-stocked gift shop. It is a beautiful prairie landscape, where the view hasn't changed much since Ingalls experienced it first hand.
