looking to assess condition of used AS

Newbie here looking for help or information regarding buying an AS that is located several states away. I understand there are volunteers or a service that will assess the condition of a used AS.
Any help retrieving this information would be greatly appreciated.

Nope not if I were doing it. Some may charge a six pack, but for the most part it’s just people helping out....

Getting 2004 Classic 30 w S/O Assessed

I was not able to find the link that GMFL showed...

In May I plan to advertise my 2004 Classic 30 w/ SO and would like to know whether to say it is in "good" or "fair" condition. Everything works just fine, and the interior and exterior look great for a 15-year old AS. I have only had the AS for about 9 months (while working a temporary job in Florida). I have only towed it from Texas to Florida, and one 800 mile vacation.

There was a leak (which I have fixed by replacing both sky lights) which discolored an area (about 12" x 18") along the outside wall between the sofa and the dinette--the RV repair guy cut the carpet and the wood floor underneath seems fine. The discoloration was there when I bought it--it was not very obvious until I noticed the carpet was damp there after a big rain.

I've searched the Air Forum as well as Google for the information regarding volunteer assessors without success. Do any of the AS service centers do assessments?

Thanks for your help,

BB

You can also find inspectors by searching the member list. (link below)

When you go to the search page, fill in the location of the trailer, then check the inspector type.
Leave all other spaces blank. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "search now"

Professional, independent inspector.

I recommend you only have a trailer inspected at the time you are ready to make the purchase. Also, consider having extensive conversations with the current owner about the care and maintenance they have given the trailer during their ownership. Finally, inquiry as to what dealer/service center performs the annual maintenance and service. A well maintained Airstream will be an enjoyable purchase and offer years of service. A neglected Airstream will be a headache from the first day of ownership until the last day. There is no such Airstream purchase that is a bargain. Don't be putoff by an owner asking a "premium" for a well cared for Airstream.
