Title: 2006 Airstream International CCD 16 - Idaho
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
2006 Airstream International Bambi 16 foot, Limited Quiksilver 75th Anniversary edition, only 100 were produced. Quiksilver surfing theme consists of tiki head drawer pulls, upper storage cabinets featuring bamboo highlights, Quiksilver theme lamp covers, Hawaiian theme front and rear window coverings, dinette with embossed map of the world, QuikSilver themed awning and laminate floor with a wood decking appearance.
Features include front and rear panoramic windows, audio upgrade with multi disk CD player, MP3 player input jack, AM/FM radio with DVD player including remote, LCD TV on swing mount so it can be viewed from the bed or dinette, air conditioner with heat strip, 12,000 BTU furnace. Electric hitch jack, refrigerator with freezer that can auto switch between gas or electric, Curb side awning, Fantastic fan with rain sensor, spare tire and mount. Atwood gas water heater, 2 burner cooktop, dual auto switching 20lb propane tanks, wet bath with shower and toilet - shower has outside wand capability. Rear storage area including storage bins, can also be accessed from interior.
We are the second owners having purchased the Airstream in 2009. During our tenure, we have installed the following updates: most significantly, the axle has been upgraded to a Dexter 4300lb capacity with 15" 6 bolt aluminum rims (original axle had a 3500lb capacity allowing little room for luggage and accessories, a problem Airstream later identified and corrected in later models). Tires also upgraded to 15" D rated tires so losing a tire won't be a concern, tires in almost new condition. Spare updated as well using a galvanized rim. All lights have been upgraded to LED for longer lasting boondocking. Camper has always been shed stored and properly winterized in off season, washed and waxed on a regular basis and never smoked in.
Inside is super clean, has always been taken care of and looks brand new, but the outside does have a couple of issues from the first owner. The camper looks like it was caught in a Midwestern storm and the back of the camper does have some hail damage. It doesn't affect anything other than appearance and some may say it adds a bit of patina to the camper. The second issue exists around the tail lights and water inlets where there appears to be a little oxidation of the clear coat. The condition has not become any worse during our ownership and should be ok if the area is kept clean and waxed.
All in all this has been an excellent camper for us and it's difficult for us to let it go. The smaller size makes it easy to tow, park and store. Airstream Quiksilver editions rarely come up for sale so this can be a unique find for either a first time Airstreamer or past owner as well. Call, text or email.
