Title: 1999 Airstream Bambi 19 - Colorado
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
We purchased this Bambi (renamed Barbi - after yours truly) in Houston on Jan. 24, 2012 for a family (of 3) trip to Alaska from Colorado. We towed her for three months through Colorado, Utah, California, Washington, BC, ferries on the inner passage, Fairbanks, Denali, Anchorage, the Yukon and back from Edmonton. She got new tires after this trip and we have only used her 3 times since.
Inside, the previous owner installed a new AC, replaced the carpet with vinyl flooring (good idea) and installed a stereo with a headphone jack. Last summer, we put in a new stove. We converted the hanging wardrobe (who takes a suit camping??) to shelving and various hooks for jackets, keys, etc. Everything works great. She is ready to roll.
Outside, she has a few ding and dents. My husband was glad for this, so he would not feel bad if he put one in her. NO LEAKS!!
We installed a vertical receiver hitch to accept our bike rack and they rode smoothly through the Alaska trip.
