1983 Airstream - California

Title: 1983 Airstream 310 31 - California
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.

UPDATE new pictures added 1/11/20 People told me the price was too low, so I raised it. Make offer, cash, as-is, where-is, no Paypal thanks. This is not a scam, it's a 37 year old coach we have happily used for 11 years and is just too big for where we want to go. It's also not perfect but a good example, not hacked or abused. It's here at my house on the central California coast. Can be driven anywhere but will require care and maintenance like any older RV.

310 Turbo Diesel, 100K miles, mid-bath, rear queen bed, in good condition. Suburban furnace, refrig (Norcold 2-way) replaced in the last 10 years. Cooktop/microwave replaced with stove/oven. Front jacknife couch rebuilt with new foam. Cork floors in front, new carpet in back. Sleep Number air-adjustable mattress. Curtains replaced 8 years ago with blackout type. 350 watts of solar panels on the roof, extra coach batteries. Xantrex smart charger and dedicated solar controller. Onan 7KW propane generator and both roof air units work well. Bucket chairs removed but available. 104 gallon diesel tank.

Engine rebuilt 10k ago due to prior owner running it out of water due to a hose fitting break. New brakes, new tires, Alcoa aluminum wheels. Turbo intercooler. Supersteer front steering damper and heavy sway bars. Engine-driven a/c has been removed. Electric fans and transmission cooler. Gear Vendors overdrive. The turbo intercooler and GV makes it possible to pull a lot more power than the radiator and fan can keep up with, so it will get hot if you stomp on it for long periods -- don't do that. Previous owner had installed a Desert Supercooler water spray system, plumbed in to the main water tank to keep up with the extra hot-rod heat, which is certainly effective but not working at the moment. I drive it conservatively and don't need it, remember this was built during the days when 55 was the speed limit.

There is the usual list of minor chassis problems. Fuel gauge does not work unless tank is nearly full. Water temp gauge reads higher than actual temp. Horn does not work. Old crack in lower corner of drivers windshield, not in field of view. Slider channels for windows need replaced again. There was never a parking brake, you use the transmission park position instead. There is a Mico Lever-Lock parking brake valve but it is not installed in the brake circuit. Minor (6") dent in the top rear corner, panel patched over rear wheels (both of these have been there since we've had it, shown in photos)
You can contact us by filling in the form on the right hand column of the ad listing:

Just wondering, why did the Isuzu need rebuilding with such low mileage?

Because the previous owner fixed a heater hose with a plastic coupling, that melted when it was lying on the engine block, and let the water out.
