Title: 1978 Airstream Sovereign
31 - California
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
1978 31' Airstream Sovereign
for sale. -- UPDATE - PICTURES!!!!
Here are photos from the day we checked it out and bought it until just last week:
These are EVERY photo I have ever taken of the airstream that shows original condition, renovation, and other in-progress things in the airstream. Hopefully you can see that I have taken great care to do this renovation the right way... with no expense or time spared. Of course, it is still a work in progress and a labor of love, but we've been happily and (mostly) comfortably living in it for the last 6 months.
Obviously, the Airstream is priced to sell quickly. We need to move on and are pricing it to get the money we paid for it and the investment in the renovation/materials. If it were finished, I'd price it at $15,000.
This was a renovation project that is nearly finished... just need to install the kitchen sink and then the flooring.
New EVERYTHING -- I gutted it and remodeled everything. We've been happily living in it for 6 months on a farm in Sonoma (wine country!! :) ) and now my partner just got a job in the city, so we need to move back into an apartment (heartbreaking, I know...).
So we need to sell. I'll entertain any reasonable offer, but we need to move it off the farm as soon as possible. I have a lot of money into it, and I know I'll lose some, so just make an offer and let's talk.
Things I've done:
Gutted and gotten rid of most of the original airstream stuff
Waterproofed the roof
Fixed windows & new screens
New on demand water heater
New space heaters
Replaced missing hatch doors
New bathroom, including all new plumbing
Extra black/grey tank
New built-in storage
New kitchen cabinets and countertops
New stability jacks
Many more things
Things that are great about this trailer
Great body shape
Right side awning in great shape
Great subfloor (no rot)
Great axels and wheels
All lights work
All electrical works
All gas lines in tact (though not currently in use because of dry weather propane hazards in CA)
Black water holding tank, Grey tank, and Fresh tank all in great shape
Still have all the forward overhead builtins installed and in tact
Tows perfectly with my V-6 Toyota 4-Runner
Things that are not so great about this trailer:
Some windows are hazy with mineral deposits and should be replaced eventually
Door needs re-trueing
AC works but needs new freon (I was going to put in a new AC unit this summer)
The guy before me painted it this terrible periwinkle blue inside and I'm still finding parts that need paint touchup (not terrible, just annoying)
Needs door-side awning system
Previous owner had a drying rack on the back door side that dented a bit of the aluminum
Probably need new tires at some point but they are fine right now
Door side leveling jack needs to be replaced
