Title: 1973 Airstream Tradewind 25 - Nebraska
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
A well maintained 1973 Tradewind. A YouTube video of this camper may be seen at: https://youtu.be/OpWSl5AhzZU
I am the third owner. Most of this trailer's life was spent in the Black Hills area. Updates include a laminate floor, new upholstery, new curtains. We converted the original front gaucho into a dinette. I used original Airstream materials so it looks stock. The benches fold towards the middle to make a bed. Otherwise the camper is in pretty original condition. I have been working on polishing it. It is about 60% done.
The camper is mechanically sound. Wheel bearings serviced in July 2016. Brakes work fine. All major appliances are in working order. I have never ran the reefer on gas so I cannot say that works but it does run cold on electricity. A new Thetford toilet was installed in 2016.
The Tradewind in 1973 weighed 4100 lbs dry. I pull it easily with my V8 Grand Cherokee. We have pulled it from Omaha to the Black Hills and back with no issues, getting 10mpg. We have made several trips to the Iowa Great Lakes area, again with no issues.
The biggest issue with it is there is a short in the 12 volt
system. All lights and appliances work on electric hook up. Only the water pump and radio require 12 volt
. I'm working on tracing the short and hope to have it resolved soon.
We love this camper but are selling because we bought a permanent spot at a resort. Thanks for looking
