Title: 1973 Airstream Safari 23 - Indiana
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
Our Airstream is still for sale, and I have reduced the asking price because there are a couple issues with this trailer, which is basically in very good shape. We bought this trailer in 2006. We've had it out on the road a few times each year since then. It's about 90% all original and in good shape. We put new tires on it in 2008, they don't have much wear on them, but they are no longer new. It has one significant scratch near the kitchen window and a 4" tear in front of the right wheel well.
It needs new running lights. To tow it you will need to rig up some temporary lights.
It has a plumbing issue, which we originally thought was the water pump. We have since discovered a leak that occurs when the water pump is running and prevents the water from getting to any of the faucets.
We had Airstream put in a new furnace which we have only used a couple times. The refrigerator works on electric, but not gas. The carpet was replaced by previous owner. All the drawers and cabinets are original, present, and in good working order. The mirror on the closet door in the bathroom is broken.
People have been asking how much the trailer weighs. The tag says 5800 GVW.
We towed it with a 1997 Ford 350 diesel van which is for sale also. You can buy them as a package for $10,000. I've posted a bunch more photos on my facebook page in an album called Airstream https://www.facebook.com/sara.walthe...810&type=3
