Title: 1972 Airstream Argosy 22 - Virginia
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
I have a 1972 vintage 22' Argosy travel trailer by Airstream. The trailer was previously owned by my wife's grandparents. They purchased the trailer in September 1979. Their dream was to own an Airstream. They sold the trailer to us in March 2008 when, due to health reasons, they could no longer travel. We have enjoyed our time with the trailer. However, we have a two year old and need more space. This trailer is definitely a conversation starter. We love it when people approach us at the campgrounds to ask us about the history of the trailer.
In January of 2013, I had RV Solutions of Chesapeake inspect the tongue and underbelly. They installed a new frame support. Also, I had them replace both propane tanks, the regulator, the pigtail hoses, and install a new battery. In October 2013, MAACO sand blasted and repainted the exterior. They also installed new LED lights in the back.
This summer we discovered a leak in the plumbing. We traced it to the shower connection. In the spring, I am planning to have someone repair that. However, I wanted to list it now in case someone wanted to fix it on their own and have it ready to go this spring.
The cover is included with the trailer. Also, I have the original owner's manual.
Heat, AC, and hot water heater all work great! It also has a zipdee retractable awning.
The trailer has an electic jack and comes with an EAZ-Lift adjustable weight distributing hitch. A new trailer cord was installed in 2011. The Argosy emblems were removed during painting. I have emblems, but I have not put them back on yet.
