Title: 1971 Airstream Globetrotter 21 - Iowa
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
We are selling our Globetrotter that we purchased from a farmer in Wisconsin about 5 years ago. The owners manual has the original buyer (the farmers dad). We have title. We just had our 5th child and have decided we don't have the time for it we wanted. We have made several updates included:
lightweight hardwood flooring
replaced gaucho in front to match walnut cabinetry
cleaned and reupholstered cushions
put in a new converter
rewired seven wire hitch and new LED lights
trimmed inside closet cabinetry
purchased a vintage style premium pole & rope awning
Air conditioning, stove top works (oven does not - we used a convection oven which can be included in purchase), fridge works, all electric works, water pump works but two leaks need repaired. Our next job was to replace all plumbing with pex. I removed all the bath fixtures to paint the bath surround a more white color (I have paint to include with purchase).
I have pictures of most of the renovations - including a picture of how solid and sound the subfloor was before beginning. I can include these with purchase. The back 12 inches of the subfloor under the hitch/bath could be replaced.
We kept the renovations as close to the feel of the original as we could, rather then loud prints and colors.
We enjoyed it camping around Lake Michigan October 2016 for our anniversary, and our kids used it as a play house this past summer. We just haven't used it as we hoped.
New tires and packed wheel bearings in Fall 2016.
