I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
This airstream was built out in the spring of 2016 as an off the grid, self-sufficient home away from home. It is the ultimate camper for long adventures or could also be a wonderful tiny home. I traveled the continent for two years with her and she performed flawlessly. The solar system and lithium battery bank were designed and built by AM Solar in Springfield Oregon.
The heart of the system is a 300ah Lithium Ion battery pack that is fed by three tilting roof mounted 100watt panels and a fourth 100 watt panel that is on a 50’ tether (park in the shade and put the panel in the sun to keep the battery bank topped off). Power is managed by a Magnum energy MS-2012 2000-watt pure sine wave inverter/charger and the solar is controlled and boosted by a Blue Sky Energy 25MPPT outfitted with the shunt kit and temperature compensation sensor. The 30 amp shore power connection has been upgraded to a stainless marine-tech unit.
The toilet was replaced with a Natures Head composting toilet with a dedicated
12v external vent and fan. The unit is in pristine condition and was cleaned and sanitized. The original tub and shower are in excellent shape and work like new. A folding shower curtain was added and is a nice upgrade. The black tank was disconnected but is still installed should you want to go back to a traditional RV toilet. A 45-gallon grey water tank has been added to the system with a separate discharge, making wastewater management off the grid a simple affair. The factory 50-gallon freshwater tank has been flushed and the exterior fill valve has been upgraded to a stainless marine-tech unit. All faucets have been replaced with brushed nickel units. The furnace and hot water heaters are factory original and function properly. The furnace is ducted with three zones, front dinette area, mid-ship and bathroom. Ducting was installed to provide warm air flow into water tank areas for winter camping. A new Dometic RM2820 refrigerator/freezer was installed in 2017. A new carrier air conditioner was installed in 2014 by the previous owner.
The dinette is a u-shaped affair with a table that lowers to create a queen sized bed and bench seating with under-seat storage. In mid-ship where the original goucho couch was located a storage area has been built with a single bed bunk above it. Underneath the storage area is where the battery bank, the inverter and all of the electrical is installed.
The awning was replaced in 2017 with a sunbrella fabric in a warm tan color. PEX plumbing lines, aluminium wheels with 2 year old 15 ply tires, original aluminum propane tanks.
