1969 Airstream Globetrotter 21’ - Vermont

Title: 1969 Airstream Globetrotter 21’ - Vermont
We just listed our 1969 Airstream Globetrotter for Sale on Airstream Classifieds.

Year: 1969 Make: Airstream Model: Globetrotter Length: 21'

1969 Airstream Globetrotter

Sadly for sale for health reason this ’69 has been totally refurbished. It is ready to go camping!
We restored from the frame up:
Removed everything!
replaced floor and por 15 on entire frame
frame checked and welded in back
new vintage looking stick on tiles
new plumbing with new water heater, and pump, new storage tank
bathroom has new toilet, new holding tank, repainted fiberglass unit
checked wiring and insulation
sanded, replaced where necessary, restained wood
new air conditioner with heat strip unit- professionally installed by RV1, Fair Haven Vermont ( apparently the wiring was there- air was a factory extra in ’69)
new zip dee awning vintage stripe print fabric with screen room never used
new axle purchased from Colin Hyde in Plattsburg NY
new tires
Cushions were removed and dry cleaned -foam inserts clean and firm
Drapes removed and dry cleaned
drapery and upholstery were replaced sometime prior to our purchase ( guessing from style maybe in the 80s?)
original folding table- everything replaced as it was new from factory
gas stove was cleaned and overhauled by our gas company
newer refrigerator in working order
new seals on all windows no leaks
original vents no leaks- front has exhaust fan
All parts purchased from either Inland RV in CA or Steve at vintagetrailersupply.com
( Steve lives here in VT and saw this unit first hand as work was being done)
front left window was replaced with plexi no leaking!!
rear bedroom window is older plexi no leak but has yellowed. We left it alone because it actually affords privacy without closing the curtain.
original accordion door in excellent condition will be needing re attachment
All extra parts- caulking- pieces etc. will go with her. We removed the original gas heater thinking to make more storage since we had the heat strip
heater will go with unit and was working and checked by gas co for leaks
Inspected and registered Some finishing touches needed.
It was our dream to retire and travel old route 66, sadly my husband was in a severe car accident- we even hired a handyman to help put her back together. My husband says his camping days are over and would prefer a luxury hotel. I have held onto her for longer than I should have hoping that he may change his mind. She was an estate find: sitting on a lakeside lot for many years.
We named her “Io” from Greek mythology. Io was a ladies maid to Hera who Zeus made advances towards. She rebuffed him and Zeus turned her into a black and white cow- forever destined to wander the earth. Seeing as Vermont is known for its cows….. we thought it fitting. Would love to see someone realize our dream.
Please call with any questions. We welcome anyone wishing to give her a full inspection. A lot of time and money went into this thus far and we are confident you will not find any better out there.
