Airstream Tradewind 24 - Iowa
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
Well the time has come to sell our beloved Airstream. Its been a wonderful trailer and in great shape for being almost 50 yrs old. Please feel free to take a look at the pics. We shot it both decorated the way that we have lived in it and as well as stripped down so you can see the bare bones. Its fully ready to hit the road right now or be added to a home situation as a extra bedroom, office or living space.
Its a 1966
24 ft. Tradewind Airstream. It was originally found in Burton, Texas as a deer stand in an open pasture. It was restored just a couple of years before we bought it and only used 5 times by the restoreer. We purchased it in 2005 and has made a total of around 20 trips from Iowa to Texas and thats about it. Otherwise it has been stored at our property and often used as a small apartment when friends and family stay. It is in really good shape.
We have had the air conditioner serviced and it works great! This trailer doesn’t have a furnace but a small ceramic heater can fully take care of heating the space if needed and we also used an electric blanket on a couple of occasions. The fridge has had all new circuit boards installed and runs well.Toilet and shower are all in good working order although we have never used the shower. Bearings were repacked late last fall and new tires were purchased last year as well. We will also include the awning we had made. It is the old school kind that manually slides through a channel and looks great when its up and has some lights added for ambience. The awning has probably been used about ten times and is like new.
It could use a little scraping and a new paint job inside. Winter condensation has created some paint peeling in a few small areas. It also could use 2 new vents on top. Currently we have them permanently shut so you wouldn’t have to have them replaced unless you really wanted to use them. And the seals are cracked on the hot water heater so it needs to be replaced. There is a small crack in the ceiling between the kitchen and the bedroom. It was there when we purchase the trailer and has stayed pretty much the same the entire time we have owned it. See pic further details. Also the window by the door was plexiglass when we purchase the trailer. We’ve never had any trouble with it so I have just left it as is. We did get locked in the trailer one morning so we had a new deadbolt and door handle installed.
The trailer has one small fresh water tank under the couch and one tank for black and grey water. We and are asking $15,000.
