Title:
1966 Airstream Globetrotter 20 - Illinois
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.
This
1966 Airstream Globetrotter twin is really a rare find! You just don't see many of these! We're only the second owners and the first family had it for nearly 50 years! We bought it in February of 2016 with lofty goals of completing a dream restoration. Ha! These first-time parents had very unrealistic expectations of all the spare time we'd have to work on it. Sadly, we are now re-selling it. Here's some things we know about it: The original owners said they were using it up until last year, so we think that the frame and brakes are in good working order (they look fine), but we haven't had it inspected. The shell has some dents and scrapes, but it's only cosmetic. The window to the right of the door has been replaced and the one in the middle back has a tiny leak. I think it just needs caulking. The shower pan and head have been removed. The toilet is also not original. It will most likely need some plumbing work, but since we never got the chance to use it I'm not sure of the extent of it. He did tell me that the sinks do work though. All the cabinetry is original and in decent condition. The vinyl walls are original & unpainted. The back window had been replaced with an a/c unit that does work. The electricity does work as long as it is plugged in to a power source, so I assume it just needs a new converter. Countertops are original, but the stove and fridge have been replaced. The fridge is only a few years old and is quite nice & spacious. The furnace works and is original. We have the original manual as well as a photo of it from the original owners taken in 1982 (irrelevant but kind of fun!). It has a clear title. Please contact me with any q's and I'll do my best to provide answers!
