1957 Airstream Caravanner 22 - Connecticut

Title: 1957 Airstream Caravanner 22 - Connecticut
I just posted a new ad on Airstream Classifieds.

This vintage Airstream was rescued from a cornfield in Minnesota close to 10 years ago requiring a complete renovation.

We set out to do a complete renovation from the ground up and what has been completed to date has been done right, we have spared no expense. The shell was separated from the floor/frame. Frame had minimal rust damage; replaced rear cross member (welded), stripped and repainted. New pressure treated plywood floor was installed, new insulation, sizing, and new linoleum covering. THE INNER SKIN HAS BEEN REMOVED and 1/3 of it has been stripped to the bare aluminum (intension was to re zolatone or marine epoxy).

All the window weather stripping has been replaced (rivets and all) as well as all new window glass (with the exception of the rear window) with tinted safety glass.

The trailer is rewired with new 12v & 110 wire and ready for the inner skin to be reinstalled. Our intension was to put in a “custom” interior layout, but we do have 80% of the interior contents to either re-install or use for templates for new wood. We have the original propane heater, (2) Victoria stoves, (2) tubs, sinks, all the original interior & exterior lighting, some new exterior tear drop lights, new Airstream name plates, new hubs, breaks and berrings, hand jack, etc. We do not have the original door handle.

As you can see in the pictures the exterior shell is in great shape, as well as the interior skin. The only damage to the exterior skin is in the front near the LP tanks. If we were to continue on with the renovation we would replace this damaged area.

We have decided to stop the renovation and sell because we just do not have the time to dedicate and take thru to completion. Much of the hard work is done. The trailer is road worthy and is wired for breaks and directionals. If you are looking for a great Airstream project to take on and love these 13 panel vintage Airstreams then you have found the right unit ☺.

We have detailed pics of the renovation, and can send more pics if you’re interested, ONLY SERIOUS INQUERIES PLEASE. We are selling at a price to simply pay for what we have into the original purchase price and what we have put into it to date.
You can contact us by filling in the form on the right hand column of the ad listing:
