27 footer advantages EB

The queen in the 27 is fore and aft, which definitely makes stowing the table top easier than in the 25. The pantry is much bigger and more functional - the microwave is lame, so tossing it is an option. If you're boondocking, cook outside with a dutch oven! The hanging closet space is doubled too.

Deleting the cheap skylights - 2 in the 27 as opposed to 1 in the 25 is another good option, though you may want a 3rd fantastic fan near the bath area where the smaller skylight goes.

I would think that the table top could also be stored between the cushions of the folded up dinette bench. Hidden under dinette and under couch storage doesn't exist, but pretty covered bins could definitely be used there. (Comments about using 2 recliners instead of the dinette in a 25 - Measure the space. You'll fit one on the door side, but the location of the FURNACE and the side couch/bed will crowd the heck out of the second one... though you might "negotiate" shortening the couch a couple of inches, or at least using a round corner like on the bed. Recliners do make a lot of sense when you remember where the TV is.)

As for the Rear hatch, I'd probably make a mosquito netting to go around the edge of the open door... and ad a ground mat so I could step down into the "back porch" if I wanted.

Unfortunately I didn't win the power ball so.... no new EB for me.

Paula

Are there two skylights in a 27 EB? I have recently (this summer, new rigs) seen one in a 27 FC and two in a 27 safari
I've only seen a 25 EB in person, no 27.

I just came from the Airstream dealer in Tucson. Checked his inventory and there is a new EB scheduled for delivery in February 2013.

I was at the plant one week before Christmas, and at that time there was several EB's in the production process.

I was speaking with Jackson Center last week and was told that EB's are on for 2013 and "highly likely" for 2014, as their national sales figures are good. For what it's worth.

... and, we picked ours up last week. Great folks (CJ & Steve) with whom to deal at Airstream Adventures Northwest in Seattle. We find it quite easy to simply put the table on top of the queen size bed and enjoy the screened in comfort of the open rear hatch... bug free state not needed ...

Jackson Center had a EB on site

I was at Jackson Center on 5/22/13 and saw a 25 foot EB being prepped for shipment.

Even the no longer produced 34' Panamerica had its limitations and drawbacks, as all toy haulers do. Get a trailer that doesn't have to be a Transformer as well. Then get a bike rack and a canoe/kayak carrier for the tow vehicle.

We LIKE the EB just as it is and already have a topper on our pickup as well as top Yakima rails to mount whatever is necessary there, too. The only limitation we have found is the stability of the table and we have that addressed as well.

mefly, I thought the table was a weakness in the design as well. What did you do to stabilize it?

At Alumapalooza a couple of weeks ago, this question was asked, "are you discontinuing the EB." The answer was, "no." But, there was a bit of a hedge. We were told that people are using that nice ramp as a large opening to have a screened in porch. Not what the factory had expected, but people seem to be finding really creative ways to use the EB for other than hauling toys. No shock to me. Spend some time on AirForums and you can't fail to be impressed at the creativity. Also, just FYI, I visited the factory a couple of weeks after ordering my trailer. There was not a SINGLE 28' CCD Signature to be seen in production. They did build mine a few weeks later.

Our dealership ordered a 2014 EB last week, so they are still in production, just "as ordered".
