Finally Got One!
Well after a long time looking and a 700 mile road trip down from New Hampshire to Colonial Airstream in New Jersey my wife and I are now the proud owners of a gently used 2012 27' EB. Plenty of room for us, the baby, and dog! Not to mention boards and old motorcycles! We couldn't be happier.
Off to Acadia this weekend to shake it down.
Side note, the folks at Colonial were great to deal with. It was a seamless low stress transaction, I'd recommend them to anyone.

Congrats on your acquisition. Looks really nice. You going to name her?
I've heard nothing but good things about Colonial. If fact we were there twice but ultimately decided on buying a used 25FB from a private seller. Great people.

Congratulations! Your TV and AS look awesome! I hope you build many fond memories with your family.
Enjoy ANP. Paid for college by working there during the summer. Would live on MDI in a heartbeat if I had the $$. May I suggest 2Cats or Cafe This Way for breakfast...drooling just thinking about it!

Thanks! Mortland, we'll take the breakfast stop recommendation. That's our favorite meal to go out for. Really looking forward to maiden voyage, now we need to figure out a name...

Success
Well the shakedown trip to Bar Harbor was a success! Plenty of room for kid/dog/toys. The EB setup is perfect for us. Really enjoyed having breakfast with the rear hatch up!

Nice, and paddle board too! I had to zoom in on that last picture I thought a baby moose was at the rear hatch!

Yay!
Congrats! We just picked one up too after years of looking at Airstreams.
Heading into the Blue Ridge Mtns today. Luv the simple interior design choices. The light maple cabinets and khaki cushions allow for a sense of brightness, even on a cloudy day.

Hi
Congratulations !!
The 28' length is an ideal size from a lot of directions. You should enjoy it !!!

Just curious. I've considered Colonial, even to the point of finding them on Google Earth to see how I'd get out towing a new AS.
You went north, and I'd go south, but how did you avoid Philly, NYC, and were the roads as bad as I recall the last time I drove in Jersey?

Hi
Actually the roads in New Jersey are a bit better than the roads in PA. You are on interstate's pretty quickly in any case. I didn't find the east / west route any worse than most of the roads I drive on.
If you want the "stealth" route south from Colonial:
Head out and get on the Garden State Parkway. Go all the way to the south end. Maybe stop for the night at JSH Airstream park. It's about 20 miles from the end.
Next go over to the Cape May Ferry and pay the toll (yikes !!!) Reservations recommended ..
Chug across to Delaware
Maybe stop at the State Park on that side.
From there you have a lot of options going south. Some are more RV friendly than others.
I have absolutely no idea what they would charge for an AS + TV. I'm sure it's somewhat less than shipping the pair to Europe.

Congrats! We just picked up ours this last week as a private sale in Arizona and drove back to the Central Coast of CA. We love it and on Friday night applied to join WBCCI.

The EBs really do add a new dimension to an AS ... with the hatch.

That is so cool can I ask how much you paid, we are looking at a similar model 2012 22FB. Asking price is $67.500 we don't want to over pay nor do we want to lose out.
