Upgrades!!

Made a few upgrades over the past few months on the outside.

- Took advantage of the factory recall on the Michelin's, and had 6 new ones installed and balanced.
- Upgraded the crank antenna to the batwing. LOVE IT! No more worrying about forgetting to crank it up.
- Exterior Aluminum door guard and Home Sweet Home.
- New metal 30amps, water, range, cable, electric, hose, etc.
- 4 80 watt ZAMP solar panels.
- Fan-tastic vent covers which now allow the vents to stay open during rain and travel
- installed TST wireless internal PSI sensors for the Airstream

Tonight we are in York SC visiting family, then we are off to the Highland HAven Airstream park. Slowly working our way to Cheshire CT a week from now.
Send me an email when you get to PNS in November. We should be in the general area towards the end of that month. Perhaps we can get together and compare notes, drink a beer or two! Are you going to Alumaflamingo in February?

Check-in @ Virginia Higland Haven Airstream Park

Beautiful park! Only 44 sites over looking the mountains. I wish we could stay longer.

The weather didn't cooperate at the Highland Haven park. We are visiting family in Allentown PA, and the Poconos now. After this no set plans- just travel as far north until it's to cold.

Also I meant to say replaced the crank up antenna with the one below. I love the signal meter.

It's too cold for me already! I'm in Albany, NY until tomorrow and it went down to 40 overnight! I'm looking forward to heading to the real south in another six weeks or so!

Campsites in Poconos???

We are finishing up our Hershey Park / Lancaster PA / Amish / Family visits, and head out tomorrow to the Poconos. No plans yet where to stay. Any recommendations? This Maine adventure is a little different, in that we have not planned our sites yet. Just keep driving north for the next 4 weeks.

We blew through Maine so fast (both ways) that I don't have any specific recommendations for you (sorry.) I would suggest that you spend a few days (at least) on Mt Desert Island (home of Acadia NP.) This time of the year is the best time to see it since most of the tourists are gone. But, leaf season is about to begin so you may have to contend with that!

Back home in MI now. 37 degrees this AM! What's up with that???

jasperkins,

What brand shell/topper do you have on your Ram? I also have a Mega Cab and I'm looking for a decent shell. I've had ARE and Snugtop before and preferred the ARE. I just wish I could find one with a slightly raised roof to fit our trucks.

Thanks!

I have the snugtop. All the sides open down (and window slides), and the window flips down to the inside so I can clean it. Also it's tied into the keyless entry lock. The snugtop had a form fitting back window piece over the tailgate.

Hickory Run State Park, PA. The boulder field was a sight to see. Today we are visiting a few small towns in the Poconos.

That "boulder field" is quite cool! Looks like it belongs out west someplace. What created it?

The leaves here in CT are starting to change color. We spent a few days visiting family in Cheshire CT. Our next stop is Mystic Seaport, with a stay at Burlinggame State Park RI. What is the Cost for this much adventure, memories, and fun 😃.

A few nights ago, we camped at Promise Land State Park PA, Camp Pocono. Great spot despite all the police and FBI driving around looking for someone who just killed a police officer. What was that guy thinking?????

BTW- the rocks at HickoryRun State Park PA are over 20k years old. Created by glacier activity, and over 12 feet deep.

Burlingame State Park RI. Today we are off to Mystic Seaport, then North to Cape Cod. We highly recommend this State Park for its large spaces, and beautiful views, and proximity to CT, RI, ME.
