I restored a 1975 Sovereign about 4 years ago and love it. Tell you one thing
about yours, and I fought this for 3 years. I think your axles are flat. They are only
good for 20 years or so, and the rubber in them turns to rock. My tires were almost
to the rim top up in the fenders. Now the tire top is even with the fender lip.
The new axles, tires, self adjusting brakes, shocks, have made a huge difference.
I purchased my axles and shocks from Andy at Inland RV, could have saved a bunch
going to a axle place, however the fit is critical, and did not have to drillholes or anything else.
If you are going to keep the unit and spend some bucks onit, this is a perfect place to start.
Check yours, the spec for ground clearance is 19.2 inches when new.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the details about the axles. It is currently having the A/C and converter replaced, wheel bearings packed and new propane tanks put on it now. We leave next Thursday for Alabama.

The axles look like the next thing to come. I'm sure it helps with towing. The tires are brand new.
