1961 International Land Yacht - a Sovereign?

Our recent Airstream purchase is a 30 ft International Land Yacht, is it a Sovereign even though it doesn't say it on the nomenclature tag? The only 30 ft trailer I can find that was built in 1961 is the Sovereign.
Also am wondering if they made an owners manual? Can't find any before 1964 on the Airstream website. Any help will be appreciated!

There were no owner's manuals in 1961, but there were individual manuals/documents for a lot of the items / equipment in the trailer - like the refrigerator, water heater, furnace (which you might want to toss if it's the original and of a certain manufacturer), Toilet/Black Tank (where it'll tell you how to dig a "gopher hole" to bury your tank's contents). Is everything "original"?

Airstream did not print owners manuals for 1961 Airstreams. There is information printed about some individual systems, such as refrigerators, the pressurized water system, etc. You may want to do some research to see how many, if any, modifications have been made by previous owners. Posting some photos may help other Airforums members with information about your '61 Sovereign. Welcome to Airforums, there is a lot of information and knowledge about here vintage Airstreams!

......I was typing slow while MarkR posting! Sorry about the duplicate information.

Got her home safely. Photos are now in 1960's photos. Needs a good cleaning, but electricity works! Hoping we don't have to tear apart & rebuild, will be checking for mice colonies! Her new name is JADEM, which is a combo of mine & my hubby's initials.

Congratulations on your "new-to-you" Airstream!

Post pictures when you can…and if you can find the VIN # the year & model can be confirmed. The VIN is usually on a plate by the door - but can also sometimes be found on woodwork on the interior.

It is possible that the 6i trailers, or at least some of them did not have a model name on the nomenclature plate.
My 61 does not have a name, although I do refer to it as a tradewind it does not say that anywhere.
Mine happens to be a california built trailer (1/61)

yeah, it had the cover, but we lost it somewhere on the way home. Hope it didn't hit anyone's car! One of the things we'll be replacing for sure!

Also we cannot find a Owner's Manual or a service manual we were told they didn't make those before 1964, My husband has to rewire everything and we could sure use one. If you come in contact with anyone Please let us know and we will do the same...

61 Sovereign

Hi,
yes we have some pics. We did not gut ours so it is mostly original. I will try to attach pics here -- we'll see how it goes. We could not find an owners manual and were also told they did not make them until 64 or 65. Ours is a work in progress, but we've taken it out several times now and love it. $$$ and time are not plenty! If I am not able to get pics attached I will get my hubby to help, but I am out of town until Monday so will have to wait until then. I have more current photos that I will need to upload.
