Welcome to the world of shiny, happy people (for the most part).
Advice? If you've never towed anything before, make sure they show you how to adjust trailer-brakes via the under-dash control box. Mine was too high - almost put myself through the windshield going down a mountain road.

There is soooo much advice you could receive, and yet....
A couple good ones if you haven't towed much before, or camped in an RV...
1. Let/Press the Dealer to do a thorough walk-through and demo, and suspect you may forget stuff anyway.. Make sure YOU can work all the things from wter heater to draining tanks..
2. Begin drafting "Checklist" for setting up and gtting ready to tow/drive off... Many of the "great stories.." here involve things like leaving antennas up or windows open or even hoses connected.. A good short checklist can help a lot.
3. Be ready to drive a little slower than the fastest cars on the Interstate at the beginning.. Airstreams tow so well you might think you can go 75, until you discover that mass and inertia are not your friends when you need to stop or swerve.. Take it easy and gain confidence slowly.
4. Start modestly with cooking and meal plans.. Sandwiches and basic coffeemaker and microwave stuff are OK to start, and you can work up to gourmet menus' after learning what you are comfortable with in kitchen and cleanups.
Best of luck on ride home, and do enjoy it!!

Another thing that people do is spend their first night on the dealers lot to learn the systems and look for any deficiencies that can be taken care of before you drive off.

The only bad advice I see here is that Bambi's rule. Not true. The Flying Clouds are the kings of the road

Hi Mark,
Welcome to the Airstream owners club, and most especially a FOD member! Best of luck in your travels home in your new Airstream.
I can honestly say don't expect everyone in our community to understand your purchase of an RV.
You'll find that camping and attending your closest Airstream Rally enjoying the Airstream lifestyle is contagious.
Learn everything that you can at the dealer, whatever you don't understand, make them repeat it for you until you DO understand.
Towing is another matter. Be aware of your surroundings, realize that towing isn't about setting land speed records either. 55 to 60mph is your optimal speed, especially considering the $ of gas nowadays.
A checklist is perfect, several to be honest. One for loading necessary items inside Airstream (food, linens, dishes, cooking ware). One for hooking up trailer to tow vehicle (TV) as well as when you arrive at your destination.
Another list for setting up at campground.
Lots of things are better left in trailer rather than trying to move it all back and forth between Airstream and home base.
Private Message me for any specific questions. You're already at the best place possible to learn about your Airstream, use the search function, if unable to find an answer, don't be shy about asking the Forum.
Best of luck in your travels home. Keep us all posted on how you do.
One final suggestion, if you have a smartphone, check to see if an app is available for the AirForum. I use mine quite a bit when away from computer.
Thanks, Derek
