Friends of Dorothy

Any other FODs out there. Airstreams are so stylish I would think it's a no brainer! Me and my other half just bought a 19' CCD Bambi and wondering why we were the only ones on here? There is a singles section so let's hear from the other FODS!

Hi blmitch5. I passed through your area twice in the last month (spent one night apiece at Andover & Emporia in the last month, though sans Airstream). That's what I get for living on one end of I-35 and originating from the other end. Everybody is well represented from any frame of reference. You are most heartily welcome at AIR Forums!

Probably not a lot of people here know who Friends of
Dorothy are. I'm sure they can learn, though!

Thanks everyone! Were somewhat new to the forums and to AS. So far no. Camping yet (we got 6 inches of snow this weekend) but loving our new to us AS! The forums are great and tons of nice people on here. I found our 06 Bambi, inspector and tons of info on here. It's a great place. The Friends of Dorothy is kind of code for other Gay and Lesbian people. We have more staight friends than gay ones but thought it might be nice to have a sub forum like the singles etc. Sorry for any confusion. Thanks again!

One end of I-35 to the other.....ie...Friends of Dorothy.

Welcome here. I think you will find many friends here...just ask around.

Airstream Parks

just discovered this thread.
Let me tell you.....
I'm 48, been towing since I was 16, my dad bought the new '77 31 ft Sovereign, and been in WBCCI since, in the Cape Cod Unit, though we are in CT. I"m now Region 1 2nd VP....R1 is very friendly, to EVERYONE!
So are the Airstream Parks.....especially the MN Airstream Park, as everyone is on the youngish side, ie 40's and early 50s, quite a few gaystreamers, and lets face it, Minnisotians are among the friendliest people in the WORLD

WBCCI is very welcoming to us all, check it out!

Thumbs up

Thanks! I will check it out. I haven't joined yet or even looked into the local chapter in KC. Do you still have the 31 ft your father bought new? That would be pretty cool. I have to say buying an Airstream was one of the best things we've done in a long time. The trailer is cool in itseft but Airstreamers are the best! Thanks again.

Hi Brad & Zell,
Yep, my partner and I are FOD. And you responded to my wds post yesterday. So where are you? we are in minneapolis. we are looking for a couple just like you for friendship.
Agreed with DFDureiko -- MN airstream park is a good spot also.

Thanks for everyone for explaining the FOD - was very confused. Welcome to the forum - I am still putting the finishing touches on my AS. Will be ready next spring at the latest. Hope next summer to go from Okla to Wash. State and see my oldest sister I have not seen since I retired from the military 17 years ago. Will be a very rewarding trip.

Yes, another member of FOD here. Airstreams are of course designer campers and naturally attract the eyes of people who have an eye for fashion,(wink!) In my case I have be a tent camper all my life, now a little past 40, my friend (Rennee) and I have been talking about getting one for some time. I was able to find one I can restore and enjoy, and hopefully match up with my 1969 Chrysler Town and Country for a full vintage trailer experience. As with any group, the Airstream life is only as good as the people. so far the people here are GREAT! MPJ

Were in The Kansas City area. Olathe, Ks to be exact. Sorry if I scared you about WD and anti sway but I know it helps a lot with wind and semis!

I get to MN @ 2x a year for work and stay in the Maple Grove area, so next time I'm up there (Oct) I'll let you know.

This is a great site and ALL the people on Air forums are great. Ask anything and you will get a ton of help. Good luck with your trip, two weeks would be great! I spent my 40th (last year) in Northern CA in wine country and loved it. A great place for a AS!
