The Ford is too big I'm going with the Tacoma quad cab. Remember all I have is 19 ft to pull!

Why a truck and not a SUV like the Toureg or something similar?

I thought about the T Reg but I don't think I want a $45,000 car to take camping and get door dents at the Airport. I really like the Tacoma. I will miss some creature comforts from my SUV but Zell has a fancy M 35x and I think that's enough.
TBRich tows with a Tacoma and lives it!

They're nice trucks. I was just curious.
So long as there's room for the pups, it's all good.

I towed my first Airstream (65 Caravel that I should have kept!) with a Toyota pick up. It was an 86 and was rated to tow 5000 pounds and pulled the Caravel very nicely. It was a nicely matched rig...the Caravel tipped the scale at 2900 pounds so it was fine.
Now my Dodge Diesel (yea it's butch!) pulls the 30' Classic like a dream.
Pick your tow vehicle to match your rig and needs I say.
Mike
P.S. Just got back from a work trip Hilo Hawaii....so nice...wish I could have stayed.

Out with the old.... In with the new. Got a new truck Friday. All this truck buying got me thinking. Ha. Got same color to keep it simple. 3 years newer and I went from 8 mpg to 18 mpg.

Hello! My partner and I have been together for 9 years and we just purchased an Airstream. We have a 2011 23FB Flying Cloud behind a 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac.
Looking at the pictures in this thread it looks like there are some age differences between partners and I think that is great. We are 38 years apart and I'm the younger of us and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I know! They will be in the back seat (they fold flat) and I'll have a cover made to double as their bed. I'm still on the fence so to speak as far as a truck or SUV but I'm looking when we get home.

Love the interior color of your truck! Have fun with it. We have a 2008 Toyota tundra but certainly don't see mileage like that! Still love our truck though.. Better love it given where gas prices are headed!

Well, Finlay back in Tucson, I racked up 7,587 miles on this trip. Now I'm having horrible thoughts after this trip. I stopped at several Airstream Dealers looking and I have come to the conclusion that my 25 foot Safari has to go. I need a 30 footer. I just don't have the room for 4 people and 2 bald cats in my little baby. GULP, I'm putting her up for sale (CRYING) She is a good AS, but I need more room. I found a very sutable 30 foot 2011 Flying Cloud replacement in New Jersey at Colonial. ADVICE BEFORE I CALL THEM AND ORDER IT!

Slow down, make sure that this one really would meet your needs. The urgency you feel is self generated, take your time.

I wasn't even really looking when I found my 30' Classic...It's an awesome trailer and there's only two of us! But like the others said just take your time, look at all your options and THEN buy the 30 footer you've fallen in love with!
I don't see what you tow with but that's going to be a consideration...make sure your vehicle is rated to tow the new trailer safely. The 30 footer is going to be considerably heavier and more rig to move down the road. I went from an 87 29' Soverign to the new 30' Classic and noticed quite a difference.
