Welcome, Angel & Shirley and Larry! This is a great site and the FOD gang is tops.

We ALMOST made the FOD rally this year, but had to bail, much to our disappointment ... still want to make it and meet all you good folks...maybe 2013 will work better for us...

Is there anyone interested in a FoD rally somewhere in California next year?

I would love it but too far for the Midwest boys but I'm sure you could get a good group together!

I just had deja vu. I think I posted this before, and blmitch responded with the same response. We have some friends here Westy gals rather than Airstreamers, who we camp with. Too far for the Midwest boys, oh come now, where is your sense of adventure?

Unless we had some major schedule conflict, we're good for anything after Memorial Day weekend.

I would be up for that, especially if it's North of San Francisco (I love the Oregon and Northern California coasts). I'm not sure I'll have a new trailer by then, but I could tent it.

Hey Cameron, that would be great! It would be fun to up the coast, I've driven 101 from Portland down, and then hwy 1 down from the border to us, and there is so much to see along the way. Hmmmm, maybe a late spring trip? Are you actively trailer shopping? I was just told of someone who is selling a small CCD here, not Bambi but a bit larger.

Hi Peter, I have my eye open for a caravel. I want to keep the length 18' or under, although if I can find a 19' globetrotter, that would work too. Work is still kind of slow, so my budget is a little questionable right now. Regardless, I'd be up for a road trip in the spring or summer. I've cycled 101 from Washington to Los Angeles and my favourite areas were in Oregon and Northern California.

Hey Cameron, that sounds cool. The earlier trailers seem so much lighter and maybe simpler to work on? Flynmike, I'm sorry I didn't see your post, maybe we can all get something together? We're on the coast but I'm wanting to go inland, or to the desert or north.. anywhere really.

Hey FOD's, My partner and I have just finished restoring Lucille Balls 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham and are spending every weekend looking for a vintage Airstream to restore and the do some retro camping. Would love a 77 Sovereign 31'. We have been all through Mesa, Phoenix, Tucson, Scottsdale looking but nothing yet. Just joined this site today and was very pleased to see this FOD link. Looking forward to meeting new friends to "stream" around with.

Welcome goin retro & Nelson428!

Goin retro: you'll find several people on the forums with experience towing vintage trailers with vintage vehicles. Overlander64 has a 70s Eldorado, so some of the issues will differ since he has fwd but the general concerns will be similar.

We will be relocating back to California in a few months and would be happy to help pull a California FOD rally together.

Hi,
Live in Central Phoenix. I restored a 1971 31' Excella 500 and pull it with a 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood. The hitch was custom built as one was not available. See picture of my profile. gda71excella Many, many hours of work, but fun also. Best of luck

Yay! More car people! Welcome! We hope to see you at the next rally! We had an expensive International this year... Bill Thomas was there showing off the new 2013's... and we just fell in love with the Flying Cloud...
