Pictures, please!

I'm located in the San Juan area of the Rockies...Not here in the winter, anymore, but I have always wanted to host a rally up here...biggest problem is finding a place large enough to accommodate the rigs...lots of free 14 day areas, but popular means crowds, and there are crowds...maybe if I knock down my fence we could carefully park about 8 rigs...can't do the courtesy plug in, as I don't have the wiring to handle it...water can be done on a pass along basis...this is the most beautiful area of Colorado, and the view from my front porch is Kendall Mountain...still got snow patches above timberline...we're at 9318 feet, and you have to go up to leave or arrive...got a gold medal brewery and rum distillery in town(beat out Sam Adams), and I happen to conveniently
live next door to the only liquor store in town...m

Michael,

If you host a rally count me in. I've been wanting to visit the San Juan's for years now.

Sounds like fun. I love that area of CO and the gold medal brewery and rum distillery don't sound bad either!

The other option would be to pick one of our beautiful CGs early and get the word out so folks can get reservations.

Keep us posted. I'd love to partake in a rally in the Rockies...

Hey, Stan, tomorrow is ok...don't need an official rally to meet folks, and the San Juans aren't going anywhere...you have the rig...I'll be on the porch...m

I think it got up to about 60 today...left Texas(Buda) for a reason, and don't live in Arizona in the summer for the same reason...might have frost tonight.m
The margarita machine(s) belong to Luke, The margiball belongs to Richard&Jan, the cool weather is here, and the food is wherever 4CU decides to plant for awhile

Rally News yet?

I SO MUCH wanted to be at the rally in Eureka Springs. Instead, I am cleaning out my parents' house and trying to improve its chances of selling as soon as possible. Hope you had a great time!

I have some good memories of visiting Eureka Springs a few times with my family. We didn't fly anywhere, my parents were terrified -- so we took trips as far as you could drive in a day. I also enjoyed the Ozark Folk Center (?), especially the music of the mountains.

I'll be looking out for photos and news.

Anne

That's what we call our Airstream: Southern Belle
It's sort of a good fit and an irony at the same time. Southern Belles are not that common in Indiana, and when you meet one, if she's really good at it, you'll never know what hit you. "If you can't say somethin' nice about somebody -- come sit by me!"

Actually, my gay friends call me their "fag hag."

I love them for that.

Every gay man needs the company of beautiful straight women, and it's funny, they all (for the most part) love us and we love them in return.

Actually, you shouldn't discount the straight men who value 'gay' friends as folks who make up their stronghold...I have several friends of 'alternate' lifestyles, and I have found 'them' to be warm and loving companions in my struggles and joys through life... let's drop the gender analysis and address more important things, like camping and friendship...m

Hi All,
At one point, I started following the Friends of Dorothy thread, but my dreams of owning an Airstream seemed too distant to keep dreaming of attending the FOD Rally. Well, next Sunday, it's official, I'll be the owner of a 1989 345LE. Keep me posted on any future Rally's, would love to attend! Thanks, Derek

It is being sponsored by Region 1 from October 6 - 10, 2011.
As it is in Provincetown, MA makes it a destination in itself!

Farther than my SS check will take me, but I will be there in spirit(tiara and all)....I ORDER you folks to have fun...DUHH!!!...sounds like a blast, and it will be...throw another log or six on the fire, and hoist one to those of us that can't be there...it won't be because we didn't want to be...Mr Economy demands more local entertainment...currently, I'm trimming my toenails and watching the foot traffic...life here is hectic, 'specially at 9:30 pm...m

wow, no vacation time left this year, as well, after purchasing what I'm nicknaming my AS moho the 'SLVRDLDO', no extra funds this year to be driving to Mass either. Maybe next years Rally. P-town sounds fun though!
