You should also consider a long day trip over to "The Mothership" - the Airstream factory. Located in Jackson Center Ohio. (NW of Columbus) They run a daily factory tour at lunch time and especially on Friday's if the week's production is done, the workers leave early... It's a primo opportunity to snoop around a bunch of new units while they're still on the line. Many dealers don't carry a full line of Airstreams, but especially towards spring you can generally see one of everything at the factory.
There's also a bicycle museum about 30 miles west of JC that I really enjoyed - of course we drove past it three times before having the OH, THERE it is minute. Big as an elephant - don't know how my sister and I missed it.

We saw the factory was in Ohio, definitely on our list of summer trips to take.
My SO would like the bicycle museum as well, she used to ride a bunch of centuries when we were young'uns. Thanks for the heads up!

Ok feeling left out with the dog pics. Here are some pics of our first camping trip. First AS, my first polish job. And that AS is the Myrtle Lynn " ok the dogs. Samantha is sitting on Simon and Mackintosh is cleaning the carpet in the back. Lol Samantha I don't think she knew was sitting on Simon and I know Simon didn't care. Oh thats Scott at the door. lol. Unfortunately that was Samantha's first and last trip. She soon had passed on. She was 16 as a golden that's a long time.

Cute pups! I'm only allowed 2 at a time. My first Lab was 15 before she left us, so 16 is a long time for a big dog. They look pretty happy!

Hi All,
Just found this thread and thought I'd join in and introduce myself. I'm Lynn and my partner Becky and I bought our first Airstream over Labor Day. We haven't decided where to go, but we do love our new (to us) Bambi!
If you ever come through Austin, give us a shout!
Lynn

Are you camping? I'm jealous! We got our 06 this year in late January and picked her up in an ice storm 1300 miles one way! When I had her home I went through the same thing. Who knew it was so easy. . The manual is kinda lacking in a step by step. I'm glad I could help. Enjoy your Bambi, they are a perfect size.

Yep. We took a very short trip to San Antonio for a few days for Christmas. Becky's mom lives here and my folks are close-to-full-time-RVers and always game for a getaway.
It's really only the 2nd time we've taken Bambi out. We went and picked her up in Colorado over Labor Day and my sister lives in Co. Springs so we stayed there for a couple of days before we headed home. We've tried to take a couple of weekend trips in the last couple of months but the state parks in Texas book up early for the fall since it's the best time to camp.
If you plan a rally in Co. in the summer, we may just make it up there. It's a long but doable drive for us.

We love Colorado. I graduated from CSU and I met Zell in Co Springs. I'd like to have an FOD get together this summer but it all depends on work schedules etc. Have fun with the Bambi. Have you lit the stove yet? It's a blast! Not really but but a long fireplace lighter.

You are making me drool here! All I can see when I look out is snow, snow drifts, blowing snow... I want to see gorgeous vistas from the door of an AS. *sigh*
