Tryyyyyyyyy another excuse. This one excuse you're using just isn't working. You're no further away than we are (it takes us 1/2 day just to get out of TX). It's about 8 months out ... plenty of time to plan and request vacation. Do you need more assistance with planning?

We didn't get a new Airstream. You may be thinking about the guys from Chicago (Briboy).
Looks like your 95 that you're restoring will be another nice Airstream for your colleciton.

Hello from Dallas
Well, knock me down. So glad to see other Gay Airstreamers out there. My partner and I have owned several motor homes and recently decided to take another route. So we just bought a 2000, Airstream Safari 23 SE. We are driving up to Springfield Missouri on August 31st to pick it up. If you are ever in Texas, send a shout out to Charles and Ben in Dallas.
BTW, we are big mid century modern guys and to that end we are so excited to own an Airstream.

Welcome to the Air Forums Charles and Ben. There are several of us that are FOD and Friends of FOD here in Texas and in nearby neighboring states. If ever interested in meeting somewhere in Texas for a weekend campout let us know. I think that we would have a good turnout here in Texas for a get together.

Charles and Ben: Some of us are even in neighboring cities. Welcome to AIRForums and the wonderful world of Airstreaming. What are you going to tow the Safari home with?
Mid-century modern types... do you live around White Rock Lake? There are a couple of neighborhoods with interesting mid-century stuff over there.

Welcome! And congrats on your new Airstream! Keep an eye out for the FOD rally next June, it's a great rally and it's in Hot Springs AR so easy to get to from TX. Take lots of pics of your new AS!

Thank you all for the welcome....Charles and Ben
Thanks to all of you that replied to our post recently. We are not only excited about our little Airstream, but about the sense of community that comes with knowing other Airstream owners.
DKB_SATX - Thanks for you nice note!!! We do not live near White Rock or Lake Highlands but did live there a little over 7 years ago. We had another MCM house that was on the White Rock tour a couple of years ago... Brag Brag. It was also mentioned in a publication called Atomic Ranch. We love our current MCM (North Dallas) but they are a lot of work.
TBRich - Thanks for your welcome as well.
Frank and Mike - Thanks as well.
Charles and Ben.

It's funny you love Mid Century modern. Houses. We're looking to relocate to Phoenix and are looking at Ralph Haver homes. They are so cool and our little Bambi is the reason we are in love with that style. I'd love to see your old house and progress on your new one.

Hi Charles and Ben! Welcome to the forum and to the Airstream family. MCM and Airstreams seem to go hand in hand. I'm an Architect and a rabid modernist. Airstreams fit my design sensibility.

Hi My FOD Friends,
Any interest in a winter rally in Texas?
David (DKB_SATX) and I have been tossing around a couple locations and dates and have landed on President's Day weekend (Feb 23rd) and one of two locations:
- Lockhart where we can put together a BBQ tour.
- North Texas or Southern OK, where it's a little more likely that some of our summer rally folks can make it.
Thoughts?
Lynn

I would love to be there, but I'm not a reliable participant. If wishing counts, I'm in. I hope to be going out West next summer. February is perfect timing for getting out of the snow and freezing, and finally meeting all or many of 'the Friends'.
By the way, does Albuquerque have RV camps for the financially challenged? I might need to know by next July. Not the best time for a move, but it would probably be temporary, nine months to a year. FYI -- I paid about $17/night + electricity, and $30 for cable in Bryson City, NC, for a month. Water & sewer free. I'm new at this, but I thought it was a pretty good deal, and right beside the river.
Peace, out for now
