FOD Rally for 2012

Ok, it's been a few months since our first FOD Air Forums Rally and I'm itching to plan another one. Ive been looking at Eureka Springs and Hot Springs AR. Both look fun but Eureka has the Diversity weekend. Any thoughts? I want to keep it kinda South due to the original groups proximity, so chime in!

Since I'm a newbie to the forum....I'd really like to attend. Have you got dates? (I don't know about the Eureka Diversity weekend.) Thanks!

Welcome BAB! The diversity weekend is planned for April (but I'm open to ideas or Hot Springs) and here's a link to last years event. It's a cute town and they go all out for the weekend, I think everyone enjoyed the town but it was the people at the rally that made it so great! It is an awesome group and I'm sure you will have a blast. Right now it's just a thought and once some others chime in I will set it in stone!

with me finding more and more 'surprises' on the '89 Airstream motorhome, it's beginning to look as if I won't be going anywhere far for the next few months. HAVE to have 8 new tires before even thinking of leaving the state, and that's well over $2000.00.
Oh well, if you guys plan anything for Florida, would love to know about it!
Thanks, Derek

Hot Springs, Eureka Springs, we'll be there if we can. We had a great time in Eureka Springs, and the experience convinced David F. that I wasn't completely crazy for wanting to do this Airstream thing. We're looking forward to FoD 2012!

@crazeevw: April is a long way away, don't give up until you try! It can be a stretch goal for you. And who knows, we might end up with a campground with cabins or something, you could fly out to join us if you can't make it with the moho.

Becky and I are in! As long as we can make the drive in one day, even if it's a long day, we'll be there.

So is North Carolina too far north for the Southern folks? Just bringing it up cause I mentioned Startlight Trailer Lodge, went last spring and it was amazing!

It makes it a 2 day trip for the Austin group so its a bit far for the Mid West/South people. My thought was to have several rallies for different regions and someday we could hold one big National rally! If you want help setting up a NE rally, I would be happy to help you with it.

Brad, has the date and place been set for FOD rally for the spring? We don't want to miss it this year, and want to bring my best friend and his partner, too.

North Carolina would be a 'long' one day trip for me, but actually more 'do-able' than Arkansas. Thinking I'll have to wait for Arkansas another year, who knew Airstreams would cost so much, lol.
Nah, LOVE my old Classic, but before I start long trips, I've gotta have 8 new tires, 9 if you include the spare......$180 a piece......guess I'd better keep playing the lotto!
I'll get there!
Thanks, Derek

June would be good, I think, but we're just party crashers so whenever you folks want to have it, we'll try to come. I'm already trying to plan out our rallies for next year. Takes my mind off the fact it's cold, and very, very wet here. My bones don't like it.

Your not a party crasher! The group would love to have you there and I think June is a bit better due to nicer weather etc. I should have something set up by December and will post a sign up page with all the info etc. I sure hope you can make it!

I love your MH! It will be worth all the effort and $$.

I looked at N Carolina but it makes it pretty far for most of the group that attended last year. Hot springs made it a little closer for our Texas friends and only added an hour 1/2 for us and out northern friends.
If you want help setting up a rally I'd be happy to help you, it would be great to several rallies in 2012! Pm me anytime.

Hot Springs is nice, June will still be tolerable. Catherine's looks great. We'll crash with law chick, and have a bath and massage at Buckstaff Baths.

At this point I can't promise what rotation David F will be on, but we should be able to swing at least a long weekend, esp. if there's decent internet connectivity so I can work if something blows up at my office.

We're officially planning on it!
