Hi All,

I had a couple of people check out the Kettle Campground and Wanderlust Campground and they both said Wanderlust was much nicer and had better sites etc. I should have done this before but better late than never.

I will PM all that have signed up and the Kettle does charge a $5.00 cancelation fee. I will gladly cover the fee for everyone but I talked to Wanderlust and they were much more accomidating to keep all of us together. I have 10 sites set aside starting from 63 down. they have shade, free WIFI and a social hall that is free as long as we have 8 trailers there, if not I will cover the cost to rent it. Here is a link to the site and I will change the info on the sign up page as well. Sorry for the change but I think we will all enjoy this one a lot more and the name...Wanderlust priceless!

We're thinking about revising our vacation plans. Is it too late to sign up for this event? Or still open?

I think as long as there are spaces at the campground there's room in the rally, but Mitch is the organizer.

More Texans have to be a good thing, right?

It won't be a problem. They have the back 10 slots reserved for us and it's still early. I'm excited to meet you both! How long are you staying? Were going to be there Thursday- Sunday. See you soon !

We made our reservations today. Couple of questions:

1. Did anyone else get any kind of confirmation # from Wanderlust? I spoke to the Park Owner (his manager is out of the office today) and he only took down my name, credit card information, address, type of rig, and dates for the event (8/5, 8/6, 8/7). Very nice man ... but no confirmation # of any kind.

2. He said his Manager knows all the details of group reservations so he didn't have any information on a Friends of Dorothy Rally ... but he said he wouldn't typically know those details anyway. I guess they will park us together?

3. We are open to ideas on potluck dinner(s) so just let us know how many nights to plan to participate in and any other information with regard to how we can contribute.

Thanks for coordinating this. We are really looking forward to the event. We modified our vacation plans to be in Branson the week prior and then end our vacation at this rally.

Now, the only thing missing for this rally is a "YES" confirmation from Terry and Greg from Tucson. Hmmm, wonder how we can twist their arms? Maybe I have some photos of them from the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta that they wouldn't want posted???

The Park Owner just called me back to let me know he spoke to his Manager. He said that:

1. They don't give confirmation #s but that they have all the information in their system. So no risks of problems.

2. He confirmed an Airstream group of 10 units and he noted "Friends of Dorothy Rally" in the reservation comments.

3. So far, he shows 3 of the 10 reserved sites accounted for with firm reservations. He assumes others are working on cancelling their reservations at the other RV Park and will be contacting him in the near future with their reservation information.

We should be a firm 9. My changing the CG messed things up a bit but I think that Wanderlust is the better choice for the group.

I'm excited that we finally all get to meet each other! When things get closer we will firm up all of the details and I'll post a schedule etc.

If anyone wants to help get donations for a raffle feel free. I will make some calls and collect some AS and or Pride stuff. I haven't finished the design yet but I will have custom wine labels made and give a bottle to each trailer.

Any other ideas feel free to post them.

So what's our status? Has everyone reserved a spot at Wanderlust? Only a couple of us have said so in the thread. I'm hoping to meet lots of fellow travelers, so to speak.

Obviously were in!

I received the contract and the rate is $24.00+ tax if we have 8 or more rigs and the social hall is free for both nights. If less than 8 come then it's $26.95 + tax and the social hall is $25.00 for both nights. There is no cancelation fee if they are notified at least 3 days in advance.

Wanderlust seems to be on top of it and are very accommodating and professional. They also have cabins to rent if you have friends coming without a trailer.

Reserve early! We've got 9 signed up so far and only 10 sites held for us. If we get more than 10 they will still try and keep us together.

Were in site 63 next to the social hall (2) and they are holding 63-75. This way were al together and have the back part of the park pretty much to ourselves. We would only have 5 other near us.

Okay, just canceled my reservation at Kettle Campground and switched over to Wanderlust. We will be in spot #82 from August 4 - 7 right across from everyone....
Lyla, our daughter will be turning 2 on Sept 1, and we're hoping the pool is cool and the weather warm with not TOOOO many mosquitos!
