Can a non-AS FoD'er join in?

Question for fellow FoD'ers; looks my honey and I may end up with something else besides an AS for our first rig, but would still love to be able to make a FoD rally or two. Would be be allowed to attend if we were sans shiny-ness? We could wrap our antenna in foil or something if that would help?

The nice thing about Air Forums is ALL are welcome! Anyone who dreams of Aluminum, is fascinated by AS is welcome here. The same would be true of FOD. So don't worry will just TP your trailer with aluminum foil.

I know this is a super-dumb question, but what is FOD?

An abbreviation for Friend(s) of Dorothy, which is an old-school code for gay. Dorothy = Judy Garland, who has been historically popular with our demographic. It's from the bad old days when one couldn't admit it in "polite company" (or in Hollywood, which was nothing even approaching polite but they were judgmental about it anyway.)

D'oh! I should have figured that out. Both of my best friends ( besides my husband) are friends of Dorothy.

Hi Mickie & Mary. Our camping gatherings organize on the basis of inclusiveness. Getting along rates higher than tent or popup or fiberglass or, goshdarnit, stainless-bloody-steel. Just prepare to bow before the almighty thirteenth element on the periodic table.

Well, you're welcome at any rally I'm at!

BUT - you are gonna' be in big peril on one account: if my experience holds true, you will be offered tours of every Airstream at every rally, no doubt. And once you get inside a few dozen of them and see the care that's been lavished on them, the personalities of the owners expressed in little design detail modifications, etc. - you will find that you really NEED one. "Aluminitis" is what the resulting affliction is called here on the Forums.

Just show up at any rally and enjoy!
