If the weather is nice, how does everyone feel about pizzas on the grill on Friday night? I'll bring plenty of home-made pizza dough, sauce and mozzarella (not home-made) plus a small variety of toppings. We cane build a variety of pizzas and throw them on the grill.

Others can bring topping they like.

Thoughts?

The only BBQ plans are for Saturday. I'll have a scorecard ready for the 4 places mentioned in the original planning post.

The weather forecast is looking pretty good! Some mid-week rain to hopefully knock a little mountain cedar out of the air for a few days, and warm days and cool nights for camping by Thursday afternoon. Too bad about the gasoline price forecast, but if I did this based on cost I'd have an old VW diesel and a tent.

You're on my calendar for Tuesday. Maybe I'll keep my Bambi hooked up to the car so you recognize me.

David,

We got a little rain today and I'm hoping for a bit more tomorrow. After that, it's sunny skies!

Selectively packing up two nights of stuff for Collin and I. The park is just going to be too far for Amy to come out to since she has to be at work before dawn on Sunday. Packing a minimal amount of food for this trip as we are doing pizza Friday and BBQ on Saturday. Who all has arrived? Park looking nice? See you all tomorrow after work!

I went out this afternoon and the only other folks there were Mike and Lucille. Sadly, I left my keys on the kitchen countertop so I came back to the house. I'm going to head back first thing in the a.m.

The park looks great, the weather today was amazing and I love the staff. I think it's going to be a good weekend!

P.S. For those of you that will eventually meet my dad at one of these rallies, let's keep this little key incident between us. When I bought the Bambi, one of the first lessons he taught me (tried to teach me?) was to keep a spare set of keys in the car at all times.

Turns out that even when past 40, your parents are still smarter than you.

It's because you keep the trailer at/near your house. My storage is about 5 miles from the house, so it only took one trip to the trailer with no trailer keys to have me make a set for the truck's glovebox, one for my car, a spare set for David F (that he never carries even when we're camping), etc.

I've used the spares on several trips to the trailer.

I'm nearly ready to leave, I'll try to get away from here by 11 or so. I have to make a stop in Austin so earlier would be better... I don't want to get stuck in Friday southbound nastiness trying to get out of Austin! I have to stop, though, I'm picking up a nice new-to-me set of vintage Zip-Dee chairs.

In fact they are, from a couple weeks ago. I called in a favor and had a friend pick them up for me because I knew I wouldn't be there for a while. Did I beat you to them?

I'm about to take the difficult dog to the kennel, load the last stuff and head out. Looks like 11 is still attainable.

Lucille and I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed meeting everyone at the BBQ rally. Even trying to eat pizza in 40 mph wind was fun!! We need to finish our tour one of these days, so keep us informed. Mucho thanks to Lynn and Becky for organizing this outing. Keep the aluminum side up-

We were really over the river and through (in) the woods. The San Marcos river is about 50 yards past the back bumper.

Of course, when you're out in the woods sometimes there are critters. This steer came over to investigate. The dogs weren't pleased.

Of course, we didn't go there for beef that was still on the hoof... here's one end of our table at Black's.

and this is the line at Kreuz Market... funny how I forgot to keep taking pictures once I got close to the BBQ.

I've gotten my photos up too.

Central Texas BBQ Tour 2013 - a set on Flickr

It was a fun weekend, even if we did only make it to 2 stops!
