Sun Shade for ZIP DEE Awning - 2012

Has anyone installed the snaps on your awning to install a Zip Dee awning sun shade? We just got one but didn't realize that we need to rivet the snaps on the awning itself. We would like to have the sun shade but not sure how well this one will work.
Any information you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

We bought one a year ago and think it is great. The snaps install easily with a drill and a pop rivet gun. The snaps do not get in the way with the screen not attached. The screen quickly attaches and provides a nice shady area.

Met a couple in a park who went ahead with the installation you described. After several months of use the snaps were "wearing through" the awning fabric. They were not happy with this.

3 Months - still enjoying it

We bought the sun shade about 3 months ago and installed it. It took about 15 minutes max. We have found that you need to loosen the ties downs if there is any hint of wind, otherwise there is too much tension on the sun shade and it will tear away at the snaps.

Apart from that we love it. We can't believe the temperature difference between the shaded area and non-shaded. Definitely worth the purchase price especially in Arizona.
