The strip seems to have a curve to it which make it very difficult to line up the clips properly. Is that curve normal?

This issue has caused me to examine the other shades and I found one with a loose clip and another where a clip has pulled the screws right out of the sill, as apparently has happened to some other folks in this thread.

This problem may have first shown up in the 2015 Classic but 3+ years later it seems to still be with us.

I've made an appointment with my dealer to address this and another issue. If things are not resolved to my satisfaction I'll make contact with customer service. Thanks.

I am going to add to this site for maybe an answer. Since out of warranty and am now on to the 5th corner blind string breakage. Does anyone have any ideas on what gauge the string is???

Hi Bob,

If you look carefully you’ll see that the string is highly specialized. It appears to be braided (obviously for added strength). I doubt this will be easy to source. Do you suppose OceanAir would sell it? Probably not. As I recall from an issue I had with a broken spring when my trailer was new (Terry Halstead fixed it), they sell the corner unit for around $1,500. They do not sell the corner tracks and a replacement shade separately.

I keep thinking of an alternative to the curved shade. Of the 4 in my trailer only 2 of them actually close fully. I’ve moved the tracks several times, but the shades aren’t long enough to fully cover the curved window.

Hope you and P are doing well!

Barry

They make special string for the blinds but in 3 different thickness. The string is cheap so I guess I will get the thickest one and restring it. Will let you know how it goes BABS. Going to Utah in a month to summer in garden springs. The Utah dealership in Salt Lake is supposed to be good so I am going to stop in there for all the other stuff that’s broken. Later
