Lug Nut Damage

I have a damaged lug nut due to removing one of them while on the side of the highway. The outside skin is deformed and a 3/4" socket does not fit all the way down to assure proper nut torque. Does anyone know the wheel brand that is on a 31" 2012 Classic Limited (aluminum wheel)? I know the nut is 1/2"-20 closed end, 3/4" socket size. I also know it must be long enough to bottom at the wheel and not the end of the lug bolt.

I am certain that if I knew the brand of wheel, I could get the correct lug nut.

Help

You have the right size nut, just visit your local auto parts store and get a set, make sure to get the long version to accept your long lugs, most will use this opportunity to swap them all out.
I have had this happen once, now I use a six point impact socket and hand fit it all the way to the bottom of the "chrome" AS nut before I start to spin, keep your tool in alignment and fully seated and the AS nuts will last forever, I remove my wheels twice per year for rotation and inspection, only have messed up 1 lug nut.

10-4 on the six point. And no impact wrenches. Big O Tires wrecked 7 out of 24 lug nuts on my F150 last fall when they installed new tires and rammed-home the lug-nuts with an impact wrench and deformed the outer chrome lug-nut covers!

2piece factory lugnuts

The factory 2 piece lugs are initially nice appearance but honestly quite crap. Looking like a one piece, they will easily twist, contort and separate twisting on itself eventually under normal torquing.

“Single piece” solid metal chrome McGards are one solution. Lifetime warranty never to chip, flake or rust. Now THats what an Airstream should have holding the wheels on. Not pretty pretenders.

Many posts on this which taught me.
