Mine does not. It is about 4 - 6" over the rail height of my 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax

Hmm...
I wonder how deep the bed is on a '99-'07 Classic Silverado compared to newer trucks like my Tundra?
I guess I can Google it or look in my owner's manual or put a tape measure on it.

For reference motorhomes can run 50amp service. Onan diesel generator in a 10KW or 12.5KW size. But they are very very large. As pointed out for full 50amp service that means each 'leg' of the circuit has 50amps of 120v power. Not very practical. Domestic A/C units pull about 15amps while running with a larger surge at startup. When running two get one started and when running it's pulling 15amps. Start the second one with a generator that can add greater than 15amps (startup can pull 20-30amps momentarily). And the generator needs to be able to quickly handle the load otherwise you may see the A/C's drop off line.

We have the pair of 2000 watt Honda generators converted to propane use only using the GenConneX equipment.

Using the Honda parallel cable and a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter, we can run either air conditioner (one at a time) with no issues and the electric power to the refrigerator on our 2014 31' Classic. Our water heater is only propane, so the only other major power hog would be the microwave. The 800 watt solar array feeding the 600 amp hour lithium battery can actually run one air conditioner for about 30 minutes.

Recently on our lot in Show Low, AZ at Ponderosa Shadows RV park, we staggered the startup of the two air conditioners on the Classic and actually had both running at the same time on our 30 amp service. We have a buck-boost transformer on our line and that helped keep the voltage up during the starting power in-rush.

We carry just the single 2000 watt unit with the 30 amp twist-lok connector inside the Mercedes when towing the 23D. We made a six foot custom power cord and installed a transfer switch along with a front power inlet on the 23D. The Magnum hybrid MSH-3012 inverter can draw the boost power from the 300 amp hour lithium battery to start the air conditioner and the single generator can keep it running. Using LED lights, we don't overload the system even with the under 1 amp draw from th Vitrifrigo refrigerator with a Danfoss freon compressor.

My generator is 28" high and the bed rails of my truck are about 20" high. Measured them today.

Have both models since 23D is 30 amp and Classic is 50 amp:

The height from plastic bedliner to low profile tonneau is only 21.5" in my Tundra.
Only the EU200i and companion will fit under there.
Another reason to get a cap/shell.

I hope all you people boondocking are far far away from me and others. When I boondock I use a 12 volt fan and it works great with the roof exhaust fan on and yes I do have a generator to run things. I have found that with my factory installed solar panels I can go 9 days and then I leave to empty my tanks and still have battery power. You all are wasting your power

So far I have never boondocked-
I have only been in campgrounds with electric and water connections.
I am exploring possibilities.
I am curious.
It all sounds like too much sugar for a dime.
