Day Night Shade Hold Down

I'm getting ready to replace the bobbin on my day/night shade. The string is broken and the bobbin is broken too. I bought replacement bobbin, looks fairly simple, but wanted to check here first.

Any advice on this process? Anything I should watch out for?

Thanks for your help.

When replacing, you must tension the string enough to keep the shade in position but not too tight or it will be hard to move. This may take more than two hands. IIRC you can install one side and then tension from the other. It has been a while since I did this so memory may be imperfect.

Thank you. I only had to replace one side, the bobbin was a different size than the other one. But it doesn't seem to matter. Anyway, I took your advice, and we did it. So far, so good!

Thank you for the advice.
