Production Delay. BUMMER. The dealer just told us of a 2 week delay. My unit was going on line today October 2 and now Im told it will go in the line October 16. (and it takes 1 week to build) Guess we will need to start changing campground reservations.

Firedog, I have one on order as well. Could you share when your order was placed? That (might) give me an idea when mine will get built....though I understand there is quite a backlog. Many thanks!

That's strange. Mine was ordered in late June and was scheduled for production starting on Oct. 2nd.

But my dealer told me that it was bumped up several days and started production on Friday Sept. 26.

Should be finishing soon, I hope. Another week for delivery to dealer in Spokane, 1&1/2 weeks for dealer prep and satellite install. Hopefully I will be able to schedule a pickup from the dealer before Winter hits.

I ordered a 2015 International Serenity, Salsa Interior, 27FB, Eddie Bauer wheel and tire upgrade, full awning package, 50 amp service with two A/C units, and convection microwave instead of gas oven with extra pantry space.

We have a 2004 30' Classic, which we love....but, we are thinking about a 2016 27' Classic! Gotta say, the new one is gorgeous. We originally bought a Classic because we both felt the fit and finish of the Classic was superior to the other models available (CCD and Safari). Looking at the newer models, it seems like quality control has improved overall. The only things we don't want are the electrical awning (it uses electricity to deploy!), electric stabilizers, and the mattress that raises the head portion. I hope these are options....

All it takes is for one supplier of one part to delay Classics and for other models to take production slots. Happens all the time in the auto world.

And I feel completely the opposite...I would NEVER consider a hickory classic but the new one is more desirable....can never satisfy everyone

The new Classic has many could features, but is not the homey feeling practical camping trailer a "classic" Classic is. I prefer the blue stripe awning, too.
Thank goodness I have a hickory wood Classic.
They have a reason for changing- the bottom line-

I liked the Buggles original better. Trevor Horn on lead, I believe. I liked the name Trevor so much, I named my firstborn Trevor...not NECESSARILY after Trevor Horn.

I'm a music enjoyer, not connoisseur. I grabbed the first link I found. I wear digital processing hearing aids, so I can't hear the original of anything.

A trailer that looks like your granddaddy's trailer is timeless.
That's why I like it!

I like the use of more aluminum, LED lighting, ducted air, no mouse fur, no wallpaper, no padded vinyl headliner-but that's about it.

Does it smell like mothballs as well?

My list is shorter, I like the mouse fur and headliner, and don't care for exposed aluminum in the interior.

Yes, AS noted some good things, like stainless covers, etc. BUT, if you add up all the stuff they added, look at the MSRP, and compare to upgrading an older Classic, you are paying at least 50% more as a factory install than a DIY upgrade. NOT a good value.

I also wonder, If the ribs are still on the "lower level" of the roof structure.....where do you walk/sit to work on stuff? I don't see any rivet lines. What is the structure below the white roof and the ribs?

I ordered a '15 Classic on Monday. I first saw it at Alumapalooza, and (of course) noticed that those trailers with ducted air had this "phenomenon." While sleek might be nice, this particular design factor is (to me) inconsequential compared with what has been created inside this trailer. Is there a tradeoff for looking at the underside of my current Dometic AC which is pretty unattractive, but functional -- vs. a sleek interior ceiling and better distributed cool air and lower noise levels? I think so. Oh, and by the way, some of the same comments were made back in the late 60's when Boeing first rolled out the 747. GOSH! It has a hump instead of a sleek fuselage.

Well, diferent folks, diferent strokes. Personally, I like the oak wood and the counter tops in my "02 Classic a lot better than the new dyed wood. Bare aluminum interior walls don't do it for me either.

I guess I'll be keeping the old girl for quite a while. She feels like home to me.

I agree BAB. To me the improved function and interior headroom is more of a positive than the 3" barely noticeable hump.

I understand that some probably are offended by a barely noticeable 3" hump and will never buy another modern Airstream, but I think those people are in the minority. New Airstreams are selling like hotcakes. My dealer told me this was a record year for Airstream sales and that the new 2015's are the most popular.

It is all just a matter of opinion when it comes to styling and personal preferences.

Those of us who are 5'8" or less would have prefered the hump be placed on the inside. You tall guys always get stuff your way. Personally I think big people breath more than their share of the air.
