I spoke with my dealer this afternoon who confirmed my earlier thoughts. Airstream has more confirmed '15 Classic orders since the new debut than the previous generation in the preceding 12 months!

Wow!

I understand that younger people are buying Airstream trailers, and that is a good thing.
However, Airstream doesn't need to leave the older customers out.
That being said, Airstream may have determined that older customers are buying more Flying Clouds and Internationals.
I will miss the "classic" Classic. I'm glad I have one. It just feels like home and is a very practical camping trailer with all the storage- albeit not as much storage as an sob, just more than the new Classic- enough storage for me, not enough storage for my wife-

Production Delay. BUMMER. The dealer just told us of a 2 week delay. My unit was going on line today October 2 and now Im told it will go in the line October 16. (and it takes 1 week to build) Guess we will need to start changing campground reservations.

Firedog, I have one on order as well. Could you share when your order was placed? That (might) give me an idea when mine will get built....though I understand there is quite a backlog. Many thanks!

That's strange. Mine was ordered in late June and was scheduled for production starting on Oct. 2nd.

But my dealer told me that it was bumped up several days and started production on Friday Sept. 26.

Should be finishing soon, I hope. Another week for delivery to dealer in Spokane, 1&1/2 weeks for dealer prep and satellite install. Hopefully I will be able to schedule a pickup from the dealer before Winter hits.

I ordered a 2015 International Serenity, Salsa Interior, 27FB, Eddie Bauer wheel and tire upgrade, full awning package, 50 amp service with two A/C units, and convection microwave instead of gas oven with extra pantry space.

We have a 2004 30' Classic, which we love....but, we are thinking about a 2016 27' Classic! Gotta say, the new one is gorgeous. We originally bought a Classic because we both felt the fit and finish of the Classic was superior to the other models available (CCD and Safari). Looking at the newer models, it seems like quality control has improved overall. The only things we don't want are the electrical awning (it uses electricity to deploy!), electric stabilizers, and the mattress that raises the head portion. I hope these are options....

All it takes is for one supplier of one part to delay Classics and for other models to take production slots. Happens all the time in the auto world.

And I feel completely the opposite...I would NEVER consider a hickory classic but the new one is more desirable....can never satisfy everyone

The new Classic has many could features, but is not the homey feeling practical camping trailer a "classic" Classic is. I prefer the blue stripe awning, too.
Thank goodness I have a hickory wood Classic.
They have a reason for changing- the bottom line-

I liked the Buggles original better. Trevor Horn on lead, I believe. I liked the name Trevor so much, I named my firstborn Trevor...not NECESSARILY after Trevor Horn.

I'm a music enjoyer, not connoisseur. I grabbed the first link I found. I wear digital processing hearing aids, so I can't hear the original of anything.

A trailer that looks like your granddaddy's trailer is timeless.
That's why I like it!

I like the use of more aluminum, LED lighting, ducted air, no mouse fur, no wallpaper, no padded vinyl headliner-but that's about it.

Does it smell like mothballs as well?
