USB outlets

We picked up a couple at Home Depot...but I am sure they are 120v....not familiar with AS wiring..maybe you can use there too...unless they make 12v as we'll...

I installed one of these in the twin bed nightstand in place of the factory outlet.. These will NOT fit into the 1.5" walls of an Airstream. There is choice of either a 15 amp and 20 amp plug outlet with two USB charging ports.

The Airstream outlets make cheap Leviton outlets look like Military Spec.

OK, let's be fair. What was the increase in the overall lineup? Subtract that from 20k and then parse it out. We do know aluminum has skyrocketed....etc. Still pretty stout for some of the items.

I read on a dealer's website that the new Classic's base price is $120K+. Can some one verify that? If so, maybe I'll advertise our now extinct and exceedingly rare 31D for $150K.

There are some things I like about the new ones, but some of the trim design "improvements" leave me cold. I'm glad we bought ours before the upgrades.

It looks to me like they are aiming for some of the full-timer retiree market that motorhomes and high-quality fifth wheels now own. It certainly has appeal in a traditional design sense and the amenities are impressive, and at a relative bargain price compared many full-time options.

It's a very large market segment, many who dislike the bulk of other offerings. Quite a beautiful alternative.

If Airstream is aiming for the full-timer segment with the 2015 31' Classic, the removal of lots of storage is counter-productive when comparing the storage capability between the 2014 and 2015 Classic model 30 units.

Well, maybe they're aiming for weekenders then.

Thankfully, our tow vehicle has lots of storage. I do want to look at 2015 Flying Cloud as well, though, because of the reduced storage on the new Classics.

I think storage need depends on individual needs and a reference point.

We went from traveling long distances in a VW Camper van to 20' Airstream, left on a 6 month trip and had storage we could not use. We now are gone 7 months a year in a 25' Airstream, took out the dinette and lounge storage for reclining chairs, and still have plenty.

We will never full time but if we did it would be in the new Classic, providing the reclining sofa seating is as comfortable as our swivel recliners.

The FC offers a lot of bang for the buck ...
