I don't have a problem with his comments. I typically ignore the comments that I don't like or don't agree with. Sometimes I post a rebuttal, but I don't think we should attack the poster. He is entitled to his opinion.

I don't think that I would ever buy a new Classic 15, but I still follow this thread as I am interested in seeing what the new Airstreams are all about. I am really surprised and disappointed that Airstream would reduce/eliminate the number of 12v outlets. My tv, antenna amplifier and interior cooling fan all operate off 12v. What are they thinking?

Dan

In addressing the cherry colored stain over generic hardwood issue: when I remodeled our house a few years back, we were going to get the cherry cabinets, the wife REALLY wanted the cherry cabinets, but, talking to our kitchen designer, he persuaded us away from the cherry, to getting maple with a cherry stain. Cost was much less, wood is less prone to split, and difference in grain was minimal... Everybody that sees the kitchen compliments the beautiful "cherry" cabinets.

To me, it's kin to the people who tell me I'm eating cat when I go to the Chinese restaurant... And, I LOVE Chinese food. I tell them, "I really don't care what it is, as long as it tastes that good!"

I don't care what wood it is, as long as it looks that good! It's got to look better than the vinyl faux wood in my '74!

-Red, painting vinyl faux wood in the near future...

Opinions are fine, but on this particular forum I would have expected more mature tact. This is especially true when the topic obviously doesn't pertain to the user or their interests.

Come in to a thread, be respectful with your comments or opinions and leave it alone. Continuing on with a rant and coming back for multiple digs doesn't serve a purpose other than to irritate those that have an actual interest in being there.

How to save $6 on a $130,000 trailer.

Well, at least I learned how to block reading comments from a "fellow" AirForum member. Ignorance (in this case), truly is bliss. And frankly, after being on here for more than three years, this is the first time I've felt any negative feelings toward a fellow Airstreamer. I would never had as much fun with my trailer without the great ideas, support, and friendship from folks I've met through this site. One bad apple most assuredly has not spoiled my barrel of good times!

Can I press an "Ignore" button so a certain member's posts do not show up on any thread?

This is what you'll see when you want to ignore a member:
"This message is hidden because 75TH BAMBI is on your ignore list."
It applies to anything they post.

...this whole business is kind of sad. Since I'm going through the gestation period of waiting for my 30 Classic I was hoping to get some insights from those who've already got theirs rather than hear from a "bitter bus driver." I hope folks don't get turned off and stop posting because part of the fun of waiting for my new trailer will be hearing from folks who already have theirs and openly and graciously share their experiences.

There was one on the lot but it had just been sold and thus locked. The pictures tell much; it is very very nice. Really like the sofa, among other things.

I think everyone's opinion is equally valid - whether I agree or not!

Unless people are being vulgar, obnoxious, insulting, or attacking other on the forum unfairly, I don't really see why I would want to block anyone from the posts that I see.

Often posts that are diametrically opposed to my own serve make me reflect and think twice about the way I perceive things, and that is good!

As it happens, I am not a big fan of the changes they have made to the Classic either - some I like, some I don't!

But if you love it in every respect, then by all means, buy one and I would hope you enjoy it to the fullest extent, it does look beautiful!

He's "Ignored" on my computer, thanks for the tip.

Has anyone heard of expanding the new Classic line? I would be surprised if they didn't offer a midsize model such as a 25-27' which is as large as we would go. It seems there is also an ongoing interest in building another 34' and that would be easy for them to do if they had more factory space, and that is in the works.
