Anyway - sorry for the diversion here

I am just curious why they would not do a FB on the classic. We currently have a 2014 27 FB Eddie Bauer and naturally when you back into a spot at a campground for the most part, your private area is behind you. We have so enjoyed having our back hatch (even if we didn't have the back hatch), but we enjoy having our living/dining/kitchen area open up to the more private area of the campground rather than the more open area. Just seems rather strange to me. Can anyone else give me Airstream's thoughts on this or am I just not thinking this through? I can tell you I think this 2015 Classic is by far the most incredible Airstream to hit the market. I am green with envy! Congratulations to those of you that have yours ordered or have already received it. Please share your pictures and your thoughts. We are seriously thinking of ordering one. Thanks!!

I too would like to see a 25/27 Classic return but not in the redecorated Safari FB version of before. A more innovative plan, a 25/27 Classic with comfortable seating in the front and the bed in the rear, more private side of the campsite.

I would welcome a second door, is it factory option? Someone mention less storage-- probably because both oven and micro wave provided losing drawer space, plus side table gone because of couch recliners, but damm, it is a looker. Not sure I would pony up the difference between my 2014 30ft FC for it as we have gotten used to the individual recliners, and side table.

The door was done by dealer after market, looks factory! Yes less storage but nicer finish along with nicer appliances, couch, ducted air, power awning & stabilizer. I like the new bathroom along with vent fan in shower & bathroom.Aa lot to consider, good luck.

Bobcat - would you please post a picture of the second door from the inside? I am curious how it looks in the bedroom, especially since, if we do this to ours, it would be on my side of the bed.

OK Barry what stuff are you adding to your Classic. I am sure solar. Are you using Am again? Was wondering about the shower door on the new one. Did you get a good look when you saw it in Ohio? Where are the dogs going to sit???

I've been in touch with Lew and with AM Solar, so, yes, there will be solar. Which also means two group 27 Lifeline AGM's. I'm thinking 4 solar panels, though they have a newer model (right now it's back-ordered)....expect they'll arrive LONG before my trailer shows up. Changing out the inverter (want 2000W) , upgraded converter with 4 stage charging, Dill TPMS, a Bogart Trimetric, Drainmaster sewage system, Barker Auto-drains, Voyager wireless camera, Sirius FM, WiFi Ranger, Jack TV Antenna, Wilson Cell booster. I'll add the Maxim skylights as well. Pretty much everything I had on SilverLeaf I will be on SilverLeaf II --- though I am adding Sirius. The Classic uses the Polk Marine head unit with a remote in the BR. Very easy upgrade to sat. radio. I would really like to add a Winegard Travl'r sat antenna on the roof, but I don't think there's going to be 44 inches of space to do it. We'll see. Shower door on the Classic doesn't suffer from the same hinge issue as the Intl. Oh, the couple who bought SilverLeaf really appreciated all the upgrades, particularly the recliners and the add-ons. Will also be buying a new ProPride as I sold the hitch with the trailer. I have most of this stuff waiting for the trailer. Hope you two have fun in Tampa and do a deal! Watch out with all that torque!!! Barry

I think one of the reasons I ordered a new trailer is so I can do all the stuff I did to the '12. And since I won't be doing stuff piecemeal, I can be a lot more efficient when it comes to wiring, running cable, etc. The first time experience gave me a lot of insights and ways of being more efficient in the mod process. Of course, it'll be an experience doing it in a new trailer where systems are in different places!

I installed the Barker Auto-Drains in my 28' Intl. It's an electric motor that opens and closes both the 3" black tank with another motor that opens and closes the 1 1/2" gray tank. I installed the switches inside the trailer....so in the morning of a departure I would simply press a switch, drain the gray tank....and after a few minutes press another switch to drain the black tank. Nice not to have to go outside. System worked perfectly....oh, when you have the valve open, there's a flashing red light on the switch box to remind you that it's open. I think each valve runs around $125 or so.
