Of course they should fix it themselves - have them install such a remote if they will not require stuff

If anyone has installed a ProPride on their 2015 Classic did you need to do anything with the propane tank shelf to clear the yoke u-brackets? Spacers, anything special?

Is there a difference on the 2015 Classic A-frame and propane shelf than what they have been using?

Don't know, don't think so, so if there isn't a difference the question would be the same for other late model Classics. I'll post the same question over on the PP thread.

The same for us as well - although we are not in a Classic ... we just connected the AC plug on the inverter to AC source and now we have both inverter as well as shore power to the inverter outlets in the trailer. As a side note, our 2013 inverter was not fan cooled and this new 2015 inverter is quite noisy in comparison.

I've just arrived outside Toronto, boondocking at a Walmart; a dark rainy drive from Montreal.
Tomorrow morning I'll make way to CanAm in London to see my new Classic. I've had a great 5 years with my '10 FC; I'll be sad to see her go.
As per the recent discussion about the inverter/recliner, I'll let you know how Andy has solved this issue.
I should first say that the standard 1000w inverter was removed, replaced with a custom designed solar/4 lifelines/auto transfer switch/2000w inverter. When I turn on my inverter, all the rv's AC power runs on it. Andy bridged the recliners to the standard AC connections so that the recliners function on shore or inverter power.

For those not thinking of going to the expense of what I've done, you could probably get your dealer to install a switch to tie into the shore power's ac wiring, then flick the switch to either inverter or shore.

Hope this helps
Ron

If it is a Magnum inverter they are much quieter. Fan generally doesn't run except in larger loads. Mine was installed on my 25 FC under the road side couch. Never heard it even when I ran the A/C with battery and a single Honda 2000.

Man, I hope that Airstream will address this inverter-recliner issue by the time I receive my new one in the spring. Everything new always seems to have some "teething issues!"

Ron,
Big day. Good luck. Did you get the complete Go Power Solar Elite system? I am looking for some feed back because it looks like it just may be ideal for the way I have been using power. I am finding the Samlex a tad loud under maximum draw conditions, like making coffee. It's a small thing, but if really good is there, why not have it. I figure by the time you get home, given the conditions out there, you will have tried all systems (except AC, ha ha) Hope you have lots of propane. Jim

Hello We don't have a 2015 classic but we do have a 2012 27FB classic. We replaced the factory installrd 600w inverter with a 1800w inverter under our bed. It was so loud that it woke me up at night. I talked to our friend that installed it and explained the problem. He install a relay that took care of the problem completely. If you have any interest I will find out what he installed and pass it on to you.

Thank you. That offer is very considerate. My inverter is silent except when it is working hard and then even with the fan going, it is bearable. I am just being a finicky old fool looking for an excuse to upgrade my inverter. ( not my assessment) Jim

Does anyone happen to know the hitch height on the new 2015 classic? I have not been able to find it in any Airstream literature and my Dealer does not know as he has yet to receive his first one. I know that it must be higher, due to the new 16" tires. I will probably have to buy a new longer drop shank for my hitch since the Airstreams are lower than my previous trailer. Thanks in advance for any answer.

The 16" tires make the hitch height 1/2" higher.

The factory standard Goodyear ST225/75R15D tires are 28.3" in diameter while the optional Michelin LT225/75R16/E LTX M/S2 tires are 29.2" in diameter per their respective web sites. Thus, to be precise, one should expect the axle(s) to be 0.45" higher off the ground and thus the hitch would also be higher by that amount.

After all the "adjusting" on the truck air bag suspension and it's lower and stronger hitch assembly and the ProPride hitch, we ended up with under a ¼" nose low installation with the trailer ready for camping on the 16" tires and wheels.

Sean at ProPride was a big help in getting the ProPride setup properly.

Thanks for the info, however I am looking for the actual hitch height as I don't have any info on last years height either. This will be my first Airstream and no one has been able to tell me the actual height on the 2015 Classic?

My 2007 is an actual 18.75" to top of coupler with 16" Michelin setup and gear in trailer.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info Rich. So you have already changed to the 16" LT tires. Can you tell any difference and how do you like them? What do you do when you are both handsome and handy?

"What do you do when you are both handsome and handy?" - I wouldn't know.

I put on 16" Michelins in late 2011. I like them fine. They wear well and provide a great ride. I have Centramatics as well. I have about 12,000 miles on them.
